ThePhoBlographer (Click here) tested the Rokinon 24mm T/1.5 lens which is also the first E-mount lens that covers the Full frame image circle. Actually Samyang/Rokinon announced five of these Cine Lenses:

8mm T/3.8 Fisheye Cine Lens for Sony E at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).
14mm T3.1 Cine Lens for Sony E at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).
24mm T1.5 Cine Lens for Sony E at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).
35mm T1.5 Cine Lens for Sony E at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).
85mm T1.5 Cine Lens for Sony E at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).

If you buy them you can use them on your current APS-C NEX camera or the Vg900 and future NEX-9 FF camera! ThePhoBlographer writes about these lenses: “They’re sharp, contrasty, affordable, ergonomically excellent, and overall exhibit some excellent image quality. The textured exterior is wonderful when the lens is being held in a hand–though we overall still recommend one to use a follow focus system when using this lens.

Reminder: As usual be aware that Samyang has many different brand names. Click on these Slidoo eBay links to see a list.
USA: Rokinon, Samyang, Opteka, Bower and in Europe: Samyang, Rokinon, Walimex, Falcon, Vivitar.

Cool EQUINOX E-mount Camera Concept!

Share

All concept images via Yanko Design.

We had quite a long and complex discussion last week about how Sony should make hybrid mount camera. And Designers Dae Jin Ahn and Chun Hyun Park found a very creative solution. They designed a modular NEX camera that has as its hardcore a compact Sensor module. I found this to be an extremely elegant solution but I doubt Sony is going to develop a modular E-mount system- Would be nice, but not going to happen.

Contax G to E-mount adapter works on FF too.

People owning the VG900 Full frame NEX may be happy to know that they can use the soon to come Contax G to E-mount adapter with full autofocus on their camera. It covers the full Full Frame image circle. It is also a good news for the future NEX-9 FF camera because this may be a cheap alternative of the expensive Zeiss FF NEX lenses that will be announced along the camera. Florian:I was fortunate enough to have (briefly) had access to a high speed camera, and used it to record both the A900 and A55 shooting different exposures, at 10’000 FPS :-) Also, I shot an HVL-F58AM firing a normal and a HSS flash, this time at 500’000 FPS…All the recordings can be found in this playlist on YouTube (Click here). Gives you a brilliant and rare insight into the inner workings for
these wonderful gadgets :-)

Damián:I know most users of the NEX 7 are using it as a good alternative to Leica to use their M lenses. So around a year ago I got the chance to get one the first SLR Magic HyperPrime LM 50mm T0.95 M (CINE). I’ve been playing with the lens since, and I wanted to share with you, and hopefully our colleagues in your blog, a couple of my pictures and my experience with the lens.
To this effect I made a small set in 500px, and now I share the link with you: http://500px.com/souvenirsheureux/sets/slr_magic_hyperprime_lm_50mm_t0_95_m_nex_7

Andre:Just wanted to send you a video I shot solely with the Sony 35mm f/1.8 on a Sony FS700. Could serve as a good reference to judge the lens, but I understand the lens has been out for awhile now. Here is the link: http://vimeo.com/60979071

Midhat:two days ago I’ve created time-lapse with NEX-7. Equipment used: NEX-7, Gentles gentLED-AUTO IC intervalometar, Zeiss 24/1.8, Sony 50/1.8, Canon 24L with Metabones Speed Booster
