Preparing for the NEX-FF. Let me know how third party lenses work on the VG900!

Share

If there is really a NEX-FF coming…and with in body IS than this is great news for all third party Full Frame lens owners. But I understand there is a big concern about the image quality that you can achieve with these lenses on a Full Frame E-mount camera. I am sure the NEX-FF camera will handle this better than the VG900 does. But I would be interested to see some VG900 + [shoplink 19605 ebay]Leica M Lenses[/shoplink], [shoplink 19923 ebay]Voigtlander M lenses[/shoplink], [shoplink 16763 ebay]Canon FD lenses[/shoplink], [shoplink 19360 ebay]Zeiss ZM lenses[/shoplink] and more thrid party lens tests… Please share the links to test you wdid or found on the web!

(SR4) The first NEX-FF prime lens is the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8.

Share

Finally some real concrete info on the new NEX-FF system!

According to two sources the first prime lens to be announced along the new NEX-FF camera will be the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8. A perfect lens for street photography. Some of you may wnated it faster but this would have made the lens way too big! The Sony-Zeiss goal was to make it as compact and as high quality as possible. And I think that’s a great start for the new NEX-FF camera system!

Note that Zeiss once made the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 C Biogon T* for the M-mount system (you can find the lens here at Amazon US or [shoplink 19913 ebay]eBay[/shoplink]). The new NEX-FF version will be bigger but I hope it will look very close to the ZM lens:

I have no info about the price of the lens. But let me know….

Which Sigma f/1.2 lens would you consider to buy?

(SR3) The next Sigma miracle: new 24-70mm f/2.0(!) lens to come in one year?

Share

The amazing Sigma APS-C 18-35mm f/1.8 A-mount lens will ship any day now at Amazon (Click here), BHphoto (Click here) and Adorama (Click here).

And according to new unconfirmed rumors Sigma could launch a 24-70mm f/2.0 (yes constant!) OS HSM Full Frame lens at Photokina in September 2014. And it could be less expensive than the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Lens ($1998 here at Amazon). Let’s hope this rumor will be correct!

(SR4) NEX-FF camera to be announced on September 24? Tomorrow Zeiss lens specs.

Share

A trusted source just told me that Sony is likely going to announce the new NEX-FF camera on September 24. I am still waiting to get some feedback from other sources to upgrade the rumor to SR5 level. The source told me that Sony worked very secretly for two years on that project. And there was and is a very tight collaboration between Sony-Zeiss and Olympus on that! The NEX-FF (final name still unknown) is a tiny bit bigger than the NEX-7, it will be the most compact digital interchangeable mount Full Frame camera of the world!

Stil to be confirmed: The camera will fetaure on sensor stabilization (5 axis IS from Olympus). Price will be in the same range of the RX1 and RX1R series (body only!). And there will be two Zeiss FF lenses too! Current E-mount lenses will work in crop mode on the camera.

Big day Tomorrow?: Within the next few hours I will receive the specs of one of the new Zeiss lenses. If all works fine tomorrow I can share you the real details about the lens! As promised, this is going to be one of the most exciting rumor times ever…not only for the Sony fellowship!!! Stay tuned on SAR and spread the news on the web!

Specs of the Zeiss lenses are unknown but Zeiss has a great history of FF lenses made for the “Full Frame” ZM analog camera:

The new Lunar is selling well (according to sources). And an “original” Lunar that costs over $70,000 :)

Share

[shoplink 19885 ebay][/shoplink]

The Hasselblad Lunar E-mount camera ins’t really a camera for 99,999% of our SAR readers. But I just heard from a reliable source that Hasselblad exceeded their sale exceptions. Yep, I know it comes as a surprise but this is what I heard from a good source. Still, I cannot find one of these cameras in Stock in major online stores. Wondering who is buying them!

And…If you ever want to go to the moon than this is the real Hasselblad Lunar you have to buy! This is an original Apollo Lunar Mission outfit camera made by Hasselblad for NASA in 1969. And it’s rare to see them for sale. And right now you can find one on [shoplink 19885 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].
