Australian distributor confirms that Zeiss is exiting the Photo Business: No more Batis, Loxia, Milvus or Otus lenses!

Share

Back on Apr 24, 2019 Zeiss announced their last photo lens, the Otus 100mm f/1.4. Since then we got Cine professional lenses but no more classic lenses for photographers.

A member of the Fredmiranda forum shared the following news:

Hi all, I just had confirmation today from the Australian distributor, that Zeiss are discontinuing all of their still lenses and filters: no more Loxia, Batis etc.
End of an era

This means Zeiss no more producing Batis, Loxia, Milvus or Otus lenses!

P.S.: ThePhoBlographer reached out to Zeiss and promised to share some official Zeiss news about this soon!

Here are the five crazy E-mount lenses that Sony should definitely make as their next goals!

I have a list of five lenses Sony should consider to launch in the next 2-3 years:

  • Sony 40mm f/1.4 GM
  • Sony 55mm f/0,95 GM
  • Sony 24-180mm f/2.8-5.6
  • Sony 24-70mm f/2.0
  • Sony 70-200mm f/2.0

In my video on top I explain hy those lenses would be important for me. Feel free to comment this post with your suggestions and I will make a general POLL based on all the lenses you want Sony to make!
