RUMOR: Sony 70-200mm G II macro might be 30% smaller than the predecessor!

Share

TRUSTED sources confirmed Sony will soon announce a completely redesigned 70-200mm f/4.0 G lens. It has two important new features:

A NEW source just sent me this (I am not sure if this is correct info but it sounds legit):

Saw your post about the new 70-200 f4. I have seen a preproduction version of this lens and can tell you that it will be shorter (by about 30%?) than the existing lens. Wider too, and better build quality, but a similar weight and fully internal focusing. The original has a week point in the middle and if dropped it can snap at that point. The new lens is completely redesigned with build quality being a key point that Sony wanted to address.

World’s first review of the new TTArtisan 27mm f/2.8 AF E lens

TTartisan recently announced the new 27mm f/2.8 APS-C Autofocus E-mount Lens. You can preorder it at Amazon US&CA&EU, Pergear and TTartisan shop pages.

Marc Alhadeff from SonyAlphablog tested the new TTArtisan 27mm f/2.8 AF E lens and concluded:

It is very light and compact but succeed to provide an aperture ring with click. Performances are good . There is good (F2.8) to excellent sharpness (as of F4) , good color rendering and nice bokeh but high vignetting & bad resistance to flare. AF is ok but could be further improved.
