SG will soon be launching a new 24mm f/6.3 full frame pancake lens. The image above shows the edition number ‘00001’ and is the L-mount version. But E-mount will be available too for a price of 299 Yuan (about $65).. It’s obviously a manual focus lens and I’m not expecting outstanding optical performance.

The new Sirui Autofocus 1.33x Anamorphic 40mm T/1.8 is now in Stock at BHphoto and Amazon. This is one of the two anamorphic lenses with autofocus you can get (the second is the 50mm t/1.8 1.33x from Blazar). In an ever-changing world, it’s important to offer new and different solutions for creatives. Personally, I’m a big fan of Sony’s 20-70mm G lens and think Sony will develop more of these ‘unique’ lens designs in the future (sources have told me this too). Chris and Jordan from PetaPixel have listed their favorite ‘weird’ lenses:
A source (thank you!) has sent me the first pictures of the new Sony 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0 lens in FULL SIZE. It really does look almost like a copy of the current Sony 200-600mm G lens. I was told that the 400-800mm is a little bit bigger and heavier than the 200-600mm. The weight is said to be around 2.5kg. I have no information on pricing….I’m guessing it will be in the neighbourhood of $2,500…what do you think?
