At the RISC-V Day Tokyo 2019 Sony LSI Design Executive Deputy President Hideki Yoshida made it clear that the future lies into the AI integration on Image Sensors:
From this last image above it is also clear that the “AV Area” which includes camera plays a little role in sensor revenue.
