Two Wheeled Nomad
Bubbly jubbly.
This frozen 20 square mile lake seriously twisted my melon: it’s full of trapped methane bubbles (not Jason’s), suspended within a foot of ice, beneath which lies crystal clear waters about 65 feet deep and big trout that come cruising to the ice ceiling, attracted by our illumination. Quite surreal–well worth freezing our maracas off for.
Pictures taken at Abraham Lake on North Saskatchewan River in Clearwater County, western Alberta, Canada by Jason Spafford

The TLRS-4 satellite laser ranging system fires a green laser into the night sky at the summit of Haleakala. I’m told this is a pretty rare sight and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time with my camera set and pointed in the right direction.
