Go fast: Canon 50mm f/0.95 on Sony NEX

If you need fast lenses for your NEX than you have to look for interesting third party lenses. As you know weeks ago I posted a news about the possibility to use the Micro Four Thirds Nokton 25mm on a Sony NEX. But he lens doesn’t fully cover the larger APS-C sensor and it’s a bit questionable if it makes sense to use that lens on your NEX camera. Some of our readers sent me possible alternative lenses which do cover the full image circle. One of the most interesting lenses is certainly the 50mm f/0.95 from Canon. Here is a list of links on Flickr:
- An image of the NEX-5 with the lens attached (by Eldech on Flickr)
- A second image of the lens on the NEX (by Nico on Flickr)
- Image samples (by Nico on Flickr) There are many nice images!
See the current Canon 50mm f/0.95 on eBay (Click here). The lens costs more or less like the Nokton 25mm for NEX.
If you have more images to show feel free to share them on SonyAlphaRumors! Thanks!

2 years ago |Is this site about rumors ? Or its about anything related to Sony ?
We dont have any solid specs information about upcoming Sony products – A77, Nex7, Nex C3… but reading a lot of useless info here.
Only rumors here from the year start is about Sony NEx C3 anouncments – in feb and april – but reality show us its complete fakeness.
Unreliablerumors.com ?

2 years ago |Hi Andey! You are so right! We are a useless site and do post fake rumors and cheat our readers. It was only luck when I predicted the SLT camera announcement one year before their official presentation. And I had luck when I was the first to say that the new Sony mirrorless cameras would be called “NEX”. And I will probably have luck when you will see the final real C3 camera with the characteristics I predicted on this website. Yes Andey, I am cheating you but I don’t know why, Sony does announce exactly the products I do pre announce on SAR. Damn what a lucky man I am

2 years ago |Ok. Sorry, I was too rude. In simple words I wonder why we have almost no technical details, specs about new cameras. Only announcment dates that moving forward all the time. What I remember mentioned here about C3… its only mpx count – weird. No technical details about camera that going to happen in days-weeks and must be in production state already.

2 years ago |Andey. The technical details are the same as the NEX-3. And I told you that. Only the sensor has been improved and a few minor design changes. There is nothing else to tell. The only thing I can show you are pistures…and I am working on that

Andey, since it’s clear you’ve not noticed, the tech world is in a bit of turmoil so announcing new product isn’t exactly the top priorty. Andrea’s been doing an excellent job of doing some out of the box thinking while sourcing articles we might find interesting, since there ain’t much else going on.
Take your shoes off when you enter and stop badgering the host. You’re mucking up the carpet and that’s just rude.

2 years ago |I know Leica makes a $10,000 .95, I know Voigtlander makes a $1,000 1.1, but I didn’t know Canon made a .95 lens–this information is certainly appreciated. It’s a prime lens available for NEX that I didn’t know existed prior to today.
I wonder if Voigtlander regrets making their .95 lens 4/3rds size not APSC–I want a .95 very badly but I’d never buy that lens for the obvious reason (doesn’t fully cover sensor).

2 years ago |Hey guys, I’ve recently got a NEX, and I have a couple of Minolta Rokkor MD lenses, f1.7 and f2.
I was wondering, do they fully cover the sensor? How do I know if they do? I’m quite a newbie in this subject, so I’d appreciate some help

2 years ago |The Minolta MD lenses are full frame lenses.
The NEX has an APS-C sensor.
Obvious answer…
