Lens design comparison: Has the Batis 85mm lens been designed by Tamron?

Earlier this week Zeiss released the full Batis 85mm lens design info (pdf here). And as you can see from the image comparison on top the internal element design seems to match the Tamron design patent (SAR article here). I guess there is a very good chance that Batis 85mm f/1.8 lens has been designed by Tamron.

Of course as long as the quality is “Zeiss-alike” this will not be a problem for us. So let’s see more of those new lenses:

The most appealing thing of the Batis 2/25 is the option to combine wide angle perspectives and playing with the depth-of-field at the same time. You will find some bokeh fringing at open aperture. It almost disappears already at f/2.8.
