Official: Sony NEX-7 and A65 coming on January 27 but first quantities already shipping now! + new NEX-7 accessories
Finally! The NEX-7 and A65 will start worldwide shipment on January 27! Here is the news from Sony: http://www.sony.jp/ichigan/info2/20111208_2.html (google translated). A wonder why the A77 isn’t mentioned. I hope it’s because they are already producing and shipping the camera 
I have been told that Sony Japan is already accepting NEX-7 preorders! Also Amazon UK (Click here), Amazon DE (Click here), Amazon France (Click here), Adorama (Click here) are accepting preorders!
But there is one more good news. Early Sony US preorders will be shipped this months! Here is the official text from Sony USA: “Sony USA is happy to announce that limited quantities of the new NEX-7 camera will begin shipping to pre-order customers this month. Overall production capacity remains restrained as a result of the recent floods in Thailand, but we’ve made significant progress recovering our manufacturing capabilities and supply chain. We’re continuing to aggressively pursue all efforts to restore full production capability of the NEX-7 and other affected models.”

Good news guys or not? We can wait 6 weeks or not?

6 months ago |I was at a convention in the U.S. last week, and they had A65/77, some other foreign looking body (A55 successor?, or maybe A8X?), NEX-5N AND NEX-7 with the 24F18Z lens attached! They also had the E 50 f/1.8, 70200G, 70400G, 300G, 135 STF, and other CZ glass laying around the table. Have never seen so many Alpha products all at once!
The 7 just feels so good to hold. The weight and size are perfect. The feel of the dials is amazing! That prototype or whatever it was looked wicked. Looked like an A-mount with no OVF/EVF, but I couldn’t see the back side to be sure. There was an unmarked lens, so could not see the sensor or mirror box, if there was one. I’d like to think it was the 50F14Z. I’m not sure if that thing was supposed to be on display. Maybe it was something the marketing department put together as a “generic camera display”?
As expected, the Sony booth as at the back of the room. The first thing we saw walking into the hall was the Canon booth with a huge 600mm F4 attached to a 7D on a stack of Canon inkjet boxes. Wonderful.

6 months ago |In the UK Sony cancelled my NEX7 pre-order without giving me any choice in the matter, claiming they had done this for all UK customers. Sadly, they still won’t accept pre-orders as yet, so gonna take a while to get one here in London. Any others experienced the same?

I also called Sony style today and no one their could confirm how many that the warehouse had and who exactly would receive one. It seemed to me that the customer service rep was receiving this news for the first time from me.
