Bart: “I’ve been promising to do this comparison for a while. I compared a Sony A7r in “APS-C crop mode” (15MP) vs. full images from the A77 (24MP) for noise, detail and overall image quality. I don’t think you’ll be surprised with the results. I like both cameras – but it’s amazing what an A7r is capable of! If you use the same lens, and the same subject – in many cases the A7r in crop mode will out resolve, and have a cleaner image than the A77.
