Two more NEX-FS700 videos!
I think Sony did a great work by releasing the new NEX-FS700. It is getting a lot of positive response on the web and from film makers (I am a film maker!). The video on top is made by Sony with the Sony NEX-FS700. And there is one more video at Studiodaily (Click here). While the camera is great what we are missing are dedicated video lenses with powerzoom, smooth aperture rings and so on. As long as these are missing it will be hard to jump on the E-mount camera
All I can say via my sources is that Sony knows that and that they are working on it

Every scene was exposed quite bright and color grading, if there was any , was very videoish digital and not filmic at all.
I understand that almost everything was shot in available light, but it looks very average and not charming at all. probably they did not even use a bounce reflector in most cases where it was better having one or used some light to fill in, instead of just exposing the whole scene brighter.
Practically there was not director of photography work, just camera operator, like on a wedding or corporate gig.
For real directors of photography Sony prefer to sell the F3 with the Slog.

2 years ago |They definitely used lights. The videos show what the camera can do for a particular audience, just as people like Den Lennie show its abilities for a different audience. The camera is incredible, just because someone doesn’t make The Godfather with it doesn’t mean it’s bad or there was no DP.

2 years ago |Did I wrote anything bad about the camera?
Only about the footage.
They may have used lighting but dear! How cheaply!
I’m sure the vast majority of buyers will be wedding, events and corporate clients, therefore they propose this footage, that does not show the real potential of the camera, which is probably up to Scarlet standard, when shot and graded well.
the food shots are like video commercials from the 80ies.

2 years ago |I agree with you that the video looked surprisingly uncharming. I remember first videos of waves on a beach shot with a NEX-5N at 60P that caused a Whow! inside me, but this time I only thought: OMG, as awesome as High Speed is from a technical point of view as boring will become future videos done by people overdoing High Speed totally. Probably some few filmmakers will find more exciting topics for this…

2 years ago |Yeah, High Speed is the New HDR! Meh.
Used properly, off speed — both over and under cranked, is a useful tool. Please not the word “properly.”

2 years ago |well Admin, as one of the videos posted earlier by you about the FS700, one of the attractive points is using whatever lens you got, not getting again to invest on another set of lenses…and on the other part, getting PDAF tracking for action scenes via LA-EA2 and SSM lenses. But yeah, power zoom lenses and smooth aperture ring are very welcome and very needed by some people.

2 years ago |Is there any new information about RAW recording? It means just uncompressed output or true “RAW” like RED? They just say “Raw 4k”. What does it mean, anyone knows?

2 years ago |Right now it’s 8-bit 4:2:2 like Canon C300
With 4K firmware upgrade, it will be true RAW (12-bits 4:4:4)

2 years ago |I wish their new fullframe dslr starts getting closer to the slo-mo of this camera. 120fps would be awesome…. that and uncompressed out over hdmi, and I’m probably sold.

2 years ago |Here’s the BEST FS 700 test video I’ve seen http://vimeo.com/40369782 Lots of useful information, not just pretty pictures. How about a dog running straight at the camera at 240 FPS and the Auto Focus being spot-on. That’s impressive, and no other test video I’ve seen shows that.
This was shot by award winning cinematographer Andrew Young.
