The japanse company Rayqual announced a couple of new E-mount adapters with built-in tripod mount. There will be E-mount adapters for Nikon F, M42, Leica R, Olympus OM, Canon FD and Pentax K mount lenses. Rayqual sells their adpaters on their own website Rayqual.com. But sadly it’s only in japanese language. The adpaters will cost around $180-200. We will might find them soon on [shoplink 9029 ebay]eBay (Click here to see the current Rayqual adpaters on eBay)[/shoplink].

Sony 30mm E-mount macro image samples (In Stock in October)

[shoplink 7434][/shoplink]
At first look the [shoplink 7434]Sony 30mm macro[/shoplink] lens for NEX doesn’t look like it could become a hotseller. It’s way to big and to slow for me. But it’s a very cheap lens. And there is one more good news. The Japanese website DC.watch (Click here) posted a couple of full size image samples taken with the [shoplink 7207]NEX-C3[/shoplink] and the macro lens. And when looking at those images I can say that image look very good! Click on the thumbnails below where I linked some of the images made by DC.watch.

P.S.: The lens will be available in Japan from September 22. We Europeans and Americans will have to wait a bit more to get our hands on that lens (mid October).

You can preorder the lens and check the availability date by clicking those direct search links. 30mm macro at [shopcountry 7434].

Fullframe poll coming soon (most commented post ever on SAR!)

With exactly 400 comments (at the time of wirting) the Sony full frame suggestion article has become the most commented article ever on SAR! Click here to read them all: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/we-need-your-suggestions-for-the-next-sony-fullframe-cameras/

Today I will sum all your suggestions and next week I will start the official poll where you will be able to vote the best new (dream) features of the future Sony cameras. Of course the poll will have zero influence on the new FF products coming in 2012. But I am sure Sony will take notice of the voting results!

One more news: From September 16 to September 26 I will travelling for work. I should have Internet almost every day but please be patient if I don’t answer your emails.

UPDATE: Sony stores makes a mess :)

UPDATE: Many readers contacted me to say that the estimate ship date is showing wrong data. The screenshot above shows the NEX-7 preorder at Sonystore US with the shipping date for the NEX-7 being September 13 2011 (LOL!). In fact the date is NOT the shipping date. Many readers contacted me to show me Sony’s mistake. I hope Sony is reading the news and will soon fix the issue.

P.S.: I got similar messages from other people that ordered the NEX-7 or A77 at Sonystore US (Click here) and Sonystore UK (Click here).

The official Sony stores still do say the NEX-7 will be shipped from November and the A77 from October (in EU and US countries). Check:

C. Garrard: “the NEX-7 is likely to be a Trojan Horse in the camera industry”

The NEX-7 and the NEX-5n are the hotseller on Amazon. Four different NEX camera kits made it into the top 20 (Click here to see the full ranking)!!! And I bet the NEX-7 will stay on top of that ranking for a very long time. The NEX-7 is receiving a lot of praises. Carl Garrard had the chance to play a bit with the Nex-7: “This is a camera that not only seems to strike the “classic” strings , but also strikes the “hi tech science tool” strings in my heart. It simultaneously gives me the impression that it is both designed to be functional yet ultra high tech at the very same time. I’ve never held or used a camera like it. I repeat, the NEX-7 is likely to be a Trojan Horse in the camera industry.” (Source: Dpreview forum). And also Whatdigitalcamera writes that: “The NEX-7 we handled is an early pre-production model and we were not allowed to put an SD card in it to assess to image quality, as there’s still some tweaking to be done to the firmware, but from a handling and usability perspective the NEX-7 is impressive.

The NEX-7 is the last of the new new Sony cameras that will get into production. That’s why you don’t see any official preview on the web. Sony hasn’t finsihed to work on the beta-firmware. Let’s hope they will finish soon because I really want to see some preview!

Preorder the NEX-7 at Amazon (Click here).
And the NEX-5n is now in Stock at Amazon: Body only (Click here), or with 18-55mm lens (Click here) and the silver version (Click here).

Sony A77 to be in Stock on October 14.

Sony Japan confirmed that the A77 will be in Stock on October 14. It’s very likely that asian countries will the first to get the A77. European and Americans might have to wait a couple of days (or weeks) more.

Meanwhile on the web you can find new image samples and previews. Here is a new list of links:

1) Sony A77 first impressions at Whatdigitalcamera: “The results from my brief hands-on are very detailed, though a little more noisy than the latest less resolute sensors. However, I must emphasise that this is a pre-production model and final tweaks to the processing algorithms are still being made, so I’m reluctant to place too much emphasis on that.“.

2) Sony A77 versus Sony A580 at dpreview forum. Sony A77 beauty image at Planetyawn. Sony A77 image samples at Photoforum Russia. NYC at Night with Sony SLT-a77 on youtube.

3) A japanese SAR reader sent us the following text: “I just went to an Sony Event last Sat.The famous cameramen Ozawa Chukyo talk about the A77 and Nex5N. I have just upload the part 1 of A77 on youtube.

4) Another reader sent us this: “I asked Nick Webster, the guy on Vimeo who has the pre-production A77 underwater video about record times after the A55 over-heating debacle.  This is what he said: “With Steadyshot Inside turned on, the maximum is nine minutes (which is a very long time for one clip). Without Steadyshot Inside, you can record as long as you like.
