I don’t recall Sony having ever had such a “slow” product announcement start in years. At that time last years we already had two cameras announced (A6400 and RX0II) and the 135mm GM. I also made a comparison with other companies to show how Sony had an unusual slow pace:

So what’s up?
My guess is that Sony’s plan is to launch most of it’s new products from Photokina towards. We will likely get the A7IV and As7II successor during the second half of 2020. The new 12-24mm f/2.8 GM in summer and also a fixed lens camera and new telephoto lenses. Still, would love to see Sony surprise us with other new products too. I may publish my wishlist soon on SAR :)

On the official Sony Xperia 1II product page you will find continuous references to the Alpha mirrorless system. Sony advertises the new Xperia 1II⁠ as the Sony A9 in the smartphone market because of it’s unmatched speed.⁠

Most of us are excited about the new Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 FE lens. But I bet not many of you know this…Source Wikipedia:

Sony Corporation maintains a 12.06% share hold in Tamron, making it the second-largest shareholder below New Well Co., Ltd ((주) 뉴웰) with 18.78% (as of June 30, 2018).

So if Tamron does well…Sony does well too :)

Zhong YI new APO 85mm F2.8 SUPER MACRO 1-5X FE lens will start shipping out in March:

Uses APO lens technology to correct chromatic aberration to the utmost. The shooting distance is 0.1 to 0272m.
Manufacturer’s suggested price: 65,000 yen (excluding tax)
Scheduled to be released in March 2020.

There is no info about the pricing and availability outside of Japan. But usually you will find their products listed in a few weeks time on their Amazon US, Amazon DE, Amazon UK pages. Note: At the moment 65,000 is about $600.
