Sebastian: “This is not a rumor. Just thought I’d share this video I made which compares the ISO performance of several cameras, including the Sony a5100, which gives similar results to the a6000, a6300, a6500 (at 1080p). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKJ-XVS9JdQ”

Canon just announced the new 6D mark II (full specs here on BH). The camera will compete against the Sony A7III which is going to be announced this fall (specs comparison here on SonyAlphaRumors).
It’s for sure a well rounded camera But I am still buffled by the absence of 4K recording on a $2,000 camera.
In the past couple of months we have been analysing and optimizing several new cameras and during that process after 2 years in development we have further improved the methodology. That allowed improving the final results possible through Primers.
So…empowered with new insights we went back and checked what we can do with prior models. We have recently updated Primers set for FS7/FS7mk2/FS5 (omeneo.com/primers/). Significant improvements in tonal distribution and dramatic difference compared to generic gamma and color space transform tools.
These are designed for S-Log3 gamma and S-Gamut3.cine color mapped imagery from FS7 sensor, and inside the 3DLUT embodied conversion step from its base gamma and color to rec.709 there are many built-in signal improvements for accuracy, natural image impression and post-production consistency with minimized noise.
As before with Primers EQX series for professional cameras, package contains separate Primers for camera or recorder monitoring and separate and more precise ones for post-production. Shooters using these for video preview get more accurate and less digital looking imagery while shooting, with full DR visibility and no data clipped. Also, they are less likely to underexpose based on visual feedback, due to “healthy” per-sensor shaped video signal optimization. Imaging post-production professionals using these can achieve much improved image results as a basis, with more resources left for creative work.
Fellow creatives who purchased their FS7 sets should check their email during the next few days. As a thank you to all who contributed to this project update is free of charge. Prior Sony camera models we covered are also due for an update as soon as possible and we have a new model in the works. Compact one and even better then expected. :)
