Curiosity: Sony sensor factory air is 35,000 times cleaner than typical city air

Imaging Resource got an exclusive access to the usually top secret Sony sensor factory of Kumamoto. Of course they didn’t get super detailed specifics of the entire process. But the first things that strieked me is that the factory air is 35,000 times cleaner than typical city air. Sounds like a greta place ot be :)

One of the few machines they got the pleasure to record was this wire-bonding machine. The video is actually in slow motion:

Impressive!

Reminder: Sony Cine Alta announcement on September 6

I know this is not an Alpha camera. But the new Sony FF Cine Alta camcorder promises to bring a lot of new tech that some day could trickle down to A7-A9 cameras. So far we only know this about the new camcorder:

Full Frame 36x24mm sensor exclusively designed for this Digital Motion Picture Camera
– Aspect ratio-agnostic – including Full Frame, Super35 4K 4-perf 4:3 Anamorphic and 4K spherical 3-perf 17:9
– New image sensor enabling exceptional picture quality
– Maintains the workflow established with Sony’s 16bit RAW/X-OCN and XAVC
– Compatible with current and upcoming hardware accessories for CineAlta cameras (DVF-EL200 Full HD OLED Viewfinder, AXS-R7 recorder, AXS-CR1 and AR1 card reader, AXS and SxS memory cards).

This is my composite of the eclipse reaching totality. Each photo is about 10 minutes apart until it reaches totality. I love the detail of the sun’s corona. Seeing the picture after witnessing the eclipse is incredible. I feel so fortunate to have captured this magical moment.
