First image samples shot on the new Zenitar 50mm f/0,95 Full Frame E-mount lens

SAR reader Gleb just sent me this info about the new Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 FF E-mount lens:

I visited the PhotoForum 2017 exhibition in Moscow past weekend where I had a chance to get my hands on the Zenitar 50mm f0.95 E-Mount and test it on my [shoplink 56902]a7sII[/shoplink]. I made a quick instagram video and included some footage that was shot using this lens. The lens looks like a tank, weights like a tank, and built like a tank.
Just don’t forget to mention that this is not a final version of the lens and that everything was shot hadheld at 1/60 sec and wide-open at f0.95, so that’s why it’s kinda blurry and not exactly in focus. I don’t want people to think that the lens is a piece of garbage :)

For the first time in 50 years David Burnett can see the decisive moment on the Sony A9

Let’s forget all the tech magic of the Sony A9. Because the camera also brought on one very “cognitive” revolution. David Barnett is a Professional Photographer for over 50 years and he says on the video above (minute 30):

“It’s been 60 years since we had Single Lens Reflex Cameras. The decisive moment on a SLR was the moment you never saw. You never really knew if you had it. And the fact that this viewfinder (EVF of the A9) doesn’t go dark I think it’s fantastic”

So after more than 50 years he can finally…SEE! :)

Sony announces the new version of the E-mount UMC-S3CA camera with genlock support

At the NAB show Sony announced the new version of the E-mount UMC-S3CA with Genlock support:

  • UMC-S3CA – This new model is an Ultra high sensitivity 4K interchangeable lens video camera with a full frame sensor. Its Genlock support enables users to operate multiple cameras in synchronization and widens the camera’s range of applications, such as shooting from multiple points or Virtual Reality use. Its small and light weight size make the camera easy to install on cranes and sliders ideal for crash cam use and to capture exciting images from different angles and height.

The new version also has some very minor design changes (Old version image vs New version image)

As expected Sony did not announce a new A7sIII or A9s. For that we will have to wait…
