Omeneo releases a software that will improve the Sony A7rII quality

Bildschirmfoto 2016-03-16 um 10.40.32

Omeneo announced a new profile for the Sony A7rII. The benefits are:

– Improved color accuracy
– More natural image aesthetics
– No more “Sony look”
– Reduced image deterioration with XAVC-S codec, compared to required primary color correction and generic LUTs

The creator of the software (Hrvoje) wrote me this:

“I’m very happy to share the result of a long and very tricky process which resulted with something cool for Sony A7R2 camera. I’ve made a set of 3DLUTS which noticeably improve A7R2 motion imaging performance. I call these transforms Primers.
They are S-Log2 S-Gamut to rec.709 transforms, custom designed specifically for A7R2 color science and they can be perceived as advanced picture profiles, harvesting higher computing precision and helping to get the most out of A7R2’s great sensor. The most important factors achieved are 1) improved color accuracy 2) more natural image aesthetics 3) reduced deterioration of footage compared to typical grading and generic LUTs 4) scene-optimized utilization of DR with reduced XAVC-S grading issues.
The set includes 13 LUTs, 10 neutral for specific scene types and 3 with analog response feel.
These were designed with shooting and post in mind, to help in both.”

Thanks Hrvoje for your work!

Jobe:I work for http://www.deandigital.com and we did a shoot with the a7R for Coke//Mello Yellow. He has also been picked up by Vanguard who recently ran a nice little article about the shoot and using the tripods. Figured you might be interested as all of this was shot on Sony’s and occasionally the chatter about real pro’s, and all that. Well, Floyd has been shooting commercially for 30yrs, I’ve chosen to work for him because he is about as real as it gets. Here is a link to the article, http://www.vanguardworld.com/photo_video/2016/02/03/7922/

Zarif:I follow your rumors alot and would love if you guys can share my video about fixing a strap problem with the a6000 or the a7 line of cameras. I really want to get it out there, i believe it will help a lot of people. The video is here – https://youtu.be/BuAOX2dbLFo

Matt Granger explains why he had to ditch Sony to get back to Nikon: Please Sony managers do listen!

Matt Granger had to give up the professional use of his Sony E-mount gear. The cause is the terrible Sony PRO service which by now is known to be by far not as good as Nikon and Canon services. I do hope that by posting this video Sony managers will recognize they have to quickly address the issue. Please Sony bring us Matt back by offering a serious non-outsourced and personal PRO service!

Note: In the past year I got many similar reports from all over the world. This is not an Australia issue only…

Thanks Ori and Matt for sharing this!
