The most low priced A and E-mount cameras will likely not get a new updated model. According to a source both, the Sony A3000 E-mount and the Sony A58 A-mount camera will not be replaced by new models. Instead the A5xxx E-mount and the A6x A-mount camera line will be the new entry level cameras.
Sigma keeps working on new E-mount lenses. That patent discloses a 14mm f/4.0 lens made for APS-C mirrorless cameras. I hope one day Sigma will start to design lenses for the Full Frame E-mount system too!

I have yet no confirmation from my usual sources. All I know for sure is that there is definitely new Batis and Loxia telephoto lenses coming by Zeiss. Two anonymous sources shared details about those. this autumn Zeiss should announce a new 85mm Loxia and a 135mm Batis. I believe those lenses would please the SAR community :)

Last week we reported about Sony lens designer Mr. Motoyuki Otake confirming a new STF FE lens is in the making.
We got first rumors about the possible new Sony FE STF lens:

Reminder: For those who don’t know what “STF” stands for. This is the description copied from BHphoto:
Sony’s Smooth Trans Focus (STF) technology has a very unique effect on defocused light sources, changing the way defocused areas appear depending on how it is adjusted. Smooth Trans Focus (STF) employs a special “apodization” element that controls the parts of the image that are not in focus. This does not affect the focused part of the image, only what is out of focus, and is set independently from the camera’s focus and aperture via the STF ring.

This wont’ struck as a surprise any of our readers. But we can confirm via one very highly trusted source that Sony will launch a new 16-35mm f/2.8 FE GM lens. While the source didn’t share yet any detail about the possible release date he said the lens was the “next GM zoom” on roadmap. I guess Photokina could be the right place for that announcement…
