Follow the live stream on SAR!

At 7pm on Sunday (April 6) in Las Vegas Sony will announce the new Full Frame E-mount camera called “Sony A7s”. And according to one of our trusted sources it can record 4K video! Note: Today Sony announced a 4K partnerhsip with Fifa (more about it at Newsshooter). I am still not 100% sure yet if it will also feature the superb A6000 hybrid AF. But my guess is that the answer is YES and this could be the reason why it has the “S” suffix for “Speed” :)

Over a month ago I got a rumor about a new Sony FE camera. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t come any time soon but I proved to be wrong! Within a couple of hours I got confirmation via five(!) trusted sources that Sony worked on a very secret kept project. And this brand new camera will be unveiled on Sunday (April 6) in Las Vegas!!!!!!!!!!! I will embedd the live stream on SAR!

UPDATE: A7s will be unveiled live at 2pm in Las Vegas (on Sunday). You cna follow the live video stream on SAR!!! This is the time in other time zones:

I am continually working to try to grab some specs. All I can tell you for now is that the camera name is “A7s“. It’s not a Silver A7 as some suggested :) And it will not replace the A7 or A7r. It’s a brand new Full Frame Emount camera. Only few know about it and that’s why it is hard to get specs. UPDATE: It’s not a silver A7 :) It’s a “new” camera. UPDATE_2: It’s based on the current A7 but has one unique feature.

Well, let’s start with some serious rumor about the next Sony announcement! Multiple sources confirmed an announcement is scheduled for very early May. We are still not how many products Sony will announce. For sure there will be a new A77II A-mount camera. But I still hope there will be some major surprises too (FE lenses, RX cameras and so on…).

A77II:
14 months after the A58 announcement we will finally get a new A-mount camera! We already know the name of the A77 successor is “A77II“. And now one of our trusted sources said he “heard” the A77II will use a new 24 Megapixel sensor. The source didn’t confirm yet if it’s the same 24 MP sensor with the super fast Hybrid AF used by the newly announced A6000 sensor. The source also said the camera has NFC and WiFi and while he didn’t share any AF specs he said it should be extremely fast.

As I guess most of you find out by now the previous rumor about the A91 and A9 cameras was a fool days joke :) But I have a bad and good news for you:

Bad: The rumor is obviously false. There will be no A91 and A9 on May 1.

Good: Foveon sensor, 50+ megapixel sensor, Super fast AF. All the info I shared is based on rumors I really got. So there is a big hope Sony will make that fool camera specs…for real!

The Sony A77 is now officially marked as “Sold out” at Sony UK, Sony Germany, Sony France, Sony Italy, Sony Spain and all other Sony EU stores! And the reason is simple, the new A77II is going to be announced one month from now. And the camera will have a hell of a speed (AF, EVF, Burst rate and so on)!!!
