(SR4) NEX-FF and NEX-APS-C announcement around October 16.

The new Sony cameras “WW328261” and “WW328262” are also listed on a Taiwan agency website.

Two new sources just told me that Sony will announce new products on October 16. It may be a different date depending on the time zone (October 15 in Los Angeles for example).

And a trusted source contacted me to tell me more about yesterday’s leak at public Indonesian agency Postel. The two “WW328261” and “WW328262” cameras should be a new NEX-FF and a new NEX-APS-C camera.

Rumors from others: No new Canon DSLR this year. Pentax K-3 with Sony 24 MP sensor.

Image via Digicameinfo.

While we are waiting to see what Sony will announce in mid October there is also something going on on the competition front.

What you see on top is the new Pentax K-3 that will be announced in early October. It will feature the same Sony 24 megapxiel sensor from the SLT-A77. Interesting, the K-3 has a “Software AA Filter” (no Hardware filter!).

Nikon will announce the D610 on October 7. It’s basically a D600 with more fps and some minor fixes (Source: Nikonrumors).

Canonrumors reports that Canon will not release any new cameras this year. Thank God we have Sony that will give us some excitement in October ;)

MXphoto working on a EF to E-mount Full Frame adapter!

MXphotoclub reports that they are working on a new adapter named “Falcon” . I contacted them and they told me that this is a new generation electronic Canon EF to E-mount Full Frame(!) adapter. This is great news for all current Canon EF Full Frame lens owners that want to buy the soon to be announced NEX-9 Full Frame camera. One more reason to leave Canon for Sony ;)

MXphoto is also the one company behind the Lens Turbo. MX already sells a [shoplink 21480 ebay]Canon EF to NEX Lens Turbo adapter (here one Bay)[/shoplink].

And here are all other LensTurbo adapters:

(SR5) UPDATED: ILCE-5000 coming soon too! Two NEX-FF(?) listed on indonesian agency.

The public Indonesian agency Postel is now listing three new Sony cameras! One is the ILCE-5000, a more advanced version of the current A3000. And than we have two “weird” names. The “WW328261” and “WW328262“. These could be the two new NEX-FF models and the name may be just a code and not the final name.It would be a damn good news if Sony would really launch both the cheaper and more expensive NEX-FF models right from the start!

UPDATE: Sony made remove the ILCE-5000 entry on the Postel site. The two other “codenames” are still there because these are not the real camera names anyway (but just the codes for the approval system). It looks like Sony is reading SAr and reacting quickly. So I wanted to tell them that even the Thai agency shows the ICLE-5000. You can run but you cannot hide ;)

(SR5) Sony 28-70mm FE (f/4.0?) lens will be the NEX-FF kit lens!

The Sony 28-70mm f/4.0 FE lens design.

Trusted sources confirmed that the new Sony NEX-FF (NEX-9?) will have the Sony 28-70mm as “cheap” kit lens alternative of the also to be announced Zeiss 24-70mm FE lens. The sources didn’t specify the aperture of the lens but I am pretty sure the specs do match with the patent describing exactly such a lens (Source: Freepatentsonline). The patent describes an 28-70mm f/4.0 (constant aperture lens) designed for mirrorless cameras. Sony lens design goal is the following:

“Digital camera systems with interchangeable lenses in recent years are capable of shooting video. Therefore, a zoom lens favorable not only for shooting still images but also for shooting video is desired. It is necessary to move a focusing lens group at high speed in shooting video so as to follow quick movement of a subject. To achieve this, it is necessary to reduce weight of the focusing lens groups while maintaining favorable optical performance.”

This will be the lens most of us are likely going to buy along then NEX-9. Light, cheap and not as big as the Zeiss 24-70mm FE lens. In short, this is the “SR5” confirmed Full Frame E-mount lens list that will be announced in mid October along the new NEX-FF (liekly named NEX-9):

24-70mm Zeiss FE /aperture not know yet).
28-70mm Sony G FE f/4.0
35mm f/2.8 Zeiss FE
55mm f/1.8 Zeiss FE
Yet not confirmed by trusted sources but likely to happen: 85mm f/1.8

What about NEX-9 specs?
As I told you my trusted sources cannot unveil the specs for now because only few know them. But within the next 7-10 days I should get full specs from other sources! At least that is what they promised to me :)

(SR4) Sony will launch a new service program for “PRO” photographers and camera owners.

There are many new High End A and E-mount cameras that will be announced from now on. And trusted sources confirmed that Sony will also launch a new “PRO Service” for photographers and Sony camera owners. The details of the program are not known yet but it could include a hotline phone number, a fast repair service, and so on. One of my sources told me that one of the goal is to make it easy for Canon and Nikon Pro’s to switch over to Sony.

(SR5) The cheaper NEX-FF is said to be competitively priced against low end FF from Canon/Nikon.

The RX1 components.

A very trusted sources told me that the cheapest of the two NEX-FF models is said to be competitively priced with the low end [shoplink 20844 ebay]Canon 6D (Click here)[/shoplink] and [shoplink 20846 ebay]Nikon D600 (Click here)[/shoplink] FF cameras. Note: the cheapest FF of the moment is now the [shoplink 20844 ebay]Canon 6D ($1499 here on eBay)[/shoplink]. But I think the source was referring to the “normal” non discounted price of the cameras which is around $2,000.

My trusted sources still didn’t say if both NEX-FF models will be announced in October or if the cheaper model will be announced a couple of months later.

Now this is a low rated rumor (SR3) only but if David Kilpatrick and a new sources that sent me the info I posted on Friday are right than the cheaper model will be more compact than the NEX-9. And maybe have no integrated viewfinder at all (which would bring it close to the RX1 design). But I repeat, that is not an info I got from my trusted sources. Anyway, here is the question:

Let us know if you would buy those new lenses:
