First LEAKED Sony A7rV image!

This is the first image I can publish from the Sony A7rV that will be announced on October 26. All we can learn from this image are:

  1. The image posted by other websites showing a dial on the top left are fake…I keep telling you this for weeks now :)
  2. The 4K and Steady Shot mark that was on top of the A7rIV is gone
  3. The only major thing we learn from the image is that it uses a fully articulating screen. You can see on the very left the mount point of the screen.

My talk about this and about recent spec rumors here:

The UNCONFIRMED A7rV specs…price close to 4,000?

Here is a list of rumors I got from new sources. All that’s written here is unconfirmed and might as wheel be wrong. But I hope that after posting this trusted sources can give me some feedback:

Source 1:

  • One bullet point notes a “Visible Light + IR sensor” – I think this may mean it has a removable IR cut filter, similar to the Sigma sd Quattros. The Spec sheet doesn’t say.
  • Designated AI processing unit
  • “Completely updated 5-axis in-body stabilization with up to 8 stops of compensation”
  • Heatsink allows for 30 minutes of 8K recording
  • Price: $3899-$3999
  • Super-35 4K crop from 6.2K oversampling
  • S-Cinetone, S-Log3, 16-bit RAW out, full HDMI port
  • “New 4-axis multi-angle LCD”

Source 2:

  • Bionz Xr of 7r5 is not same Xr used by 7s iii /7 iv / 1.
    New version.
Same way bionz X has different generations.

I repeat, some of that info might be wrong…

RUMOR: Sony A7rV has new Pixel shift function that corrects movements

The new Sony A7rIV will have a more advanced pixel shift shooting software. It will for example correct for movements. I don’t know if this means it can be used handheld…

CONFIRMED: The new Sony A7rV has 8 stop IBIS and a fully articulating LCD screen!

I was now able to triple confirm two more specs of the new A7rV that is going to be announced on October 26:

  • The A7rV has a newly designed stabilization system that indeed offers up to 8stops image stabilization!
  • The A7rV also has a fully articulating LCD screen

For me the addition of those two features alone makes the A7rV a worthy upgrade of my current A7rIV. Stabilization was always seen as a imitating factor of the Full Frame E-mount system compared ot the competition. It was rumored that Sony could never cath up with he competition because of the narrower mouton diameter. Well, it seem this was a wrong assumption!

RUMOR: Sony A7rV has the As7III heat sink

I have been told the Sony A7rrV will have the same (or similar) heat sink design of the Sony A7sIII. This will allow the A7rV to record 8k videos up to 30minutes.
