Dynamic range test: Both the Canon EOS-R and Nikon Z cameras fall behind the Sonys

Share

Photonstophotos measured the Dynamic Range of the Canon EOS-R and Nikon Z cameras. Overall none of the competitor can match the performance of the Sony A7rIII or Sony A7III. Also keep in mind the Canon and Nikon cameras are the newest cameras meaning that the gap is expected to increase once Sony announces the new models.

Of course Dynamic range alone is not the measure for the overall quality of a camera. But at least from a pure IQ point of view Sony is definitely the leader.

Today Sony announced the new WX800 compact camera

Share

The X800 (in Europe) or HX99 (in the USA) can be preorder at BHphoto, BuyDig, Focuscamera

So the rumor was spot on and indeed we had a new Sony announcement today: The bad news is that there is no A7000 yet. But “only” this new WX800 compact camera (In China it’s named WX700 and in US HX99). Like I told you multiple times before I am sure the A7000 rumor is correct but I also told you that we never got an exact date about the possible camera announcement. All we know is that they told us it’s coming as next E-mount camera.

Back to the WX800:
The new WX800 is the world’s smallest compact camera with 24-720mm zoom. Full info can be read on that Sony site. And this is the incredible zoom range you get with this camera:
