Kickstarter project modifies 50mm f/0.75 De Oude Delft lenses to be used on Sony cameras.

Marc from Berlin sent me his Kickstarter project description:

We’re a small fine mechanics company from Germany and have worked on these two ultra high speed lenses for the last year or so. The result is one full frame Leica M mount lens, perfect for mirrorless cameras of any system, and one dedicated lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras.
Both are now ready and so we’ve started a kickstarter campaign to make them available.  I’m sure your readers are curious to find out more or even get one for themselves.
Here’s where people can find our project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1745517054/50-mm-f-075-the-fastest-photographic-lens-in-the-w
And here’s where they can find us: https://www.facebook.com/ExperimentalOptics/

What MArc does is take the current “Dutch” [shoplink 44189 ebay]De Oude Delft lenses (can be found here on eBay)[/shoplink] and modify them into M-mount lenses. That way the lens can be adapted on Sony E-mount. The great news is that it covers full frame without any vignetting! Image samples shot with the A7r can be seen on the Kickstarter site.

This is what Fuji thinks about Sony: “big advantage on sensors, weak in lenses”

Share

X-E
New X-PRO2 vs A6000 size comparison (via Camerasize).

Dpreview interviewed Fuji and this is what they think about Sony:

Toru Takahashi: “Sony has a big advantage, they make their own sensors. That is a very big advantage for them, but they are weak in lenses.”
Toshihisa Iida: “And they are weakened by having so many formats. APS-C, full-frame, [across both] DSLR and mirrorless. So their lens division must be under a lot of pressure!”

And after the interview Barnaby Britton from dpreview added an editor’s note: “representatives from more than one manufacturer have suggested to me privately that they doubt whether Sony is serious about sub full-frame formats in the long term

Now I am curious to read your comments on this :)

Sony RX1R II Hands-On Field Test by TheCameraStoreTV

Share

Our Canadian colleges from TCSTV tested the new RX1rII. They compared it with the Leica Q:

The [shoplink 44171]Leica Q[/shoplink] has a better manual focus ring and better overall handling, larger battery, higher resolution EVF.
The [shoplink 44135]RX1rII[/shoplink] is smaller and the RAW image quality is way better (better sharpness, high ISO, Dynamic range)

Overall conclusion: Chris says he likes the Leica Q better “as a camera” but the Sony is the best bang for the buck. It is the better purchase between the two.
