The new Pentax K-1 uses the Sony 36MP A7r sensor and has on sensor stabilization just like the new A7II-A7rII-A7sII cameras. But Pentax is using the stabilization system for one more feature not offered by the Sony cameras: Pixel Shift High Resolution shots! See the difference between the “normal” picture (on the left- 100% enlargement) and the “high-resolution” picture (on the right):

So you think it’s worth to have that feature? If yes Sony should really find a way to add this in current and future cameras!

DSLRmagazine (google translation) talked with Mr Masashi Wakatsuki who is responsible for the RX1rII design.. Asked about the possibility of a Sony RX medium format camera he answered that every option is open at Sony.

If I can give an advice to Sony I would not go for a fixed lens RX medium format camera. I would go straight for a new medium format mirrorless system camera. Just like Fuji is rumored to show this year at Photokina. Even better idea…work in partnership with Fuji on the same system :)

This is a world’s first! The video above shows the autofocus performance with the [shoplink 45359 ebay]Nikon NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8 lens[/shoplink]. How this works is a bit weird: You have to use a combination of two adapters: The “normal” Nikon Ai to Leica M adapter and the new Leica M to Sony E-mount autofocus adapter.
