Soon (March 4 at 5-6am London time) Sony will announce the four FE lenses and you will be able to preorder it. I have no info yet if Sony will also announce a new updated roadmap. I hope so because it would be nice to see that fast 85mm f/1.4 FE lens becoming real :)

There will be no camera announcement yet. There is another press announcement scheduled before the start of the NAB show in early April. But I have yet no 100% solid info on what camera will be announced. Let’s hope it’s a new E-mount cam with internal 4K recording!

Those are the first image samples that have been taken with the new Sony FE 28mm f/2.0 lens that will be announced within the next few hours (5-6am London time). They have been posted by Pantip and the resolution of the images is low. But you can still get a very raw first impression of a sharp lens with pleasant bokeh.

And we also have the graphs showing the optical lens design. The 90mm macro and Zeiss 35mm obviously have the more high quality design. The 90mm lens has a unique Super ED glass while the 35mm Zeiss has an Advanced Aspherical lens. Both also have Direct Drive SSM super fast focusing.

And this is the Direct Drive SSM super fast focusing module on use on the new 90mm macro and Zeiss 35mm.

One year after the announcement the A7s review just got posted at Dpreview (Click here). And it earns a Gold Award:

The more you delve into the a7S, the more it becomes apparent that it was designed primarily for video. And it’s superlative in that context: producing clean, detailed video from its large sensor, even in low light. It’s less compelling as a stills camera, and its ergonomics aren’t a great match for videography, but if you’re serious about video, it’s seriously impressive.
