Unlike Sigma Tamron doesn’t make us wait one year before to launch an A-mount version of a new lens :) The new Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens is going to ship on January 30 according to BHphoto (Click here). The lens can also be preordered at Adorama (Click here).

Canon versus Sony 50 Megapixel battle. Is it madness or not?

Both, Canon and Sony are rumored to launch new 50 megapixel Full Frame sensor cameras within the next months. And I guess Nikon will follow the trend and use 50MP (Sony) sensors too. As pointed out by Diglloyd:

50 megapixels vs 36 is 1.18X the linear resolution. In other words, you can make a 42-inch wide print instead of 36-inch wide, all other things being equal, which they most definitely will not be. That’s your best case, barring some other kind of improvement.

So the questions is. Does the extra resolution increase really matter for you?

There is a new firmware update for the RX100m2 you can download at Sony support (Click here and select your OS). What Does This Do?

This utility updates the camera firmware to version 1.10 and improves the vibration and noise of the lens during auto-focusing.

A long time source got information that the new Sony A7rII is coming with a 50 Megapixel sensor. I am right now asking him when the camera will be announced and how it looks. Stay tuned, got the feeling he can tell me more and that the camera is coming sometimes…soon :)
