Updated Post: (SR5) Sony will launch lenses with built-in imaging sensor!

Share

Guess what this picture shows….two trusted sources told me this is a lens with built-in sensor, battery and memory!!! And the “lens-camera” transmits the images via NFC and WiFi to the smartphone/tablet! You can mount it on the smartphone but also use it separately!!! You will see the live view images on your mobile device.  This isn’t Start Trek or James Bond imagination…this is an SR5 confirmed rumor coming via our Top Sources!

This is a complete new kind of photography and probably the smallest camera ever made on a large sensor. I have been told the first lens to be released soon will feature the same RX100MII sensor and same Zeiss lens!!! And there will be a second model with smaller sensor and larger zoom.

I don’t know what to think about this, what do you say…what’s the cool thing about that completely newway of taking photos?

(SR4) A New 16-X G zoom to be announced along the new NEX cameras.

Share

Along the new NEX-5T, NEX DSLR shaped camera, NEX-FF and NEX-7 successor ee can be almost sure that Sony will launch a new High Quality G zoom lens for the NEX APS-C system. We have been told that it starts at 16mm at the wide end. And I have been told this isn’t the only lens to come. At leats one more APS-C zoom and one APS-C prime could be announced. Obvisouly I dind’t count the new NEX-FF lenses into this list. Yep, a lot of stuff is coming soon! Stay tuned on SAR!

One more important thing about the current rumors work: I know well you have plenty of questions on all future cameras, lenses and firmware updates. But Me and You have to be patient. There are so many rumors I am receiving in these weeks. And I know for sure Sony is trying to mislead us all by spreading false info (or partial incorrect info). They have all the reasons to do so. But it’s my job to be patient and not post everything I get without at least try to double check the info. And still, I cannot guarantee all my rumors I correct. But I try to get as close as I can get to the truth. And really, you don’t have to wait a long time to see the real new cameras. Only two months to go until the next Sony product announcement wave!

Sony NEX-FS700 now gets S-Log2 via firmware update (you have to pay for it).

Crash – FS700 SLOG2 test from TobyLoc on Vimeo.

There is a NEX camera only a very few here on SAR own. But it’s a camera that can do things no other NEX can do. It’s the NEX-FS700 camcorder. Toby Lockerbie had the chance to preview of the new firmware upgrade for the Sony FS-700 and you can read more about it at Redsharknews (Click here). In short he says that “ISO2000 now looks like ISO640”! Now that’s the kind of firmware upgrade we would love to see on all Sony cameras…Obviously without that 500 Euro extra to pay :)

UPDATE: Our reader Peter Prevec (Click here) did some tests on FS700 with the new 3.0 firmware last week. High ISO noise and S-LOG2 vs. CINE4.
