(SR4) UPDATED: A-3000 (or ILC-3000) will cost 300 pounds.

Share

A trusted source (Thanks!) told me that the A3000 body  cost around 300 pounds. it will be also available with the 18-55mm as kit lens. The EVF is 200K only(!). That is not much but the target-group is beginners.

Will take the chance to ask the source if he heard something about the NEX-FF cameras. Thanks!

UPDATE: Another source said Have read the ILC-3000 has the lowest resolution screen in the E-Mount lineup at 230k and no fast PDAF, only contrast AF system. Battery is the NP-FW50 used by the NEX series and SLT-A33/35/37.

[shoplink 20461 ebay][/shoplink]
It’s the first time I see the RX100 sell for less than $550 thanks to [shoplink 20461 ebay]6ave on eBay (free shipping)[/shoplink]. The store must have some kind of special connection to Sony because they also sell the [shoplink 20462 ebay]A99 body for $2,300 only (here one Bay)[/shoplink].

And another good news if you missed it last week:  The up to 60% savings on Sandisk cards are back at Amazon US (Click here). P.S.: The Zeiss 50mm is in Stock at BHphoto.

(SR5) 16-70mm Zeiss has OSS. A3000 (ILC-3000) has new 20 Megapixel sensor.

Digicaminfo confirms the lens and cameras we wrote about the past weeks. Here are some more info about the next week NEX announcement:

  • Zeiss Vario-Tessar T * E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS
    – Filter diameter of 55mm
    – Has OSS(!)
  • E PZ 18-105mm F4G OSS
    – Filter diameter of 72mm
  • NEX-5T
    – Look almost the same as the NEX-5R (It has NFC, FN-button control like on SLT cameras, new Menu Interface and a couple of more things.)
  • α3000 (ILC-3000 in EU and US).
    – Looks like a classic Sony SLT camera (but is E-mount has no SLT tech).
    – Has a new  20.1MP APS-C sensor
    – built-in EVF

As I told you before the new stuff will be announced next week. Hope sources can tell me the exact date (August 27 or 29?). The QX cameras will be announced on September 4. A major surprising announcement will be made in late September.

(SR5) Full list fo NEX and Cybershot QX cameras that will be announced soon!

Share

And finally we got the list fo products that will be announced soon by Sony. Here it is:

– NEX-5T (same camera as the NEX-5r but with some minor new features)
– Α3000  (this is the name in Japan. In US and Europe it will be ILC-3000)
– Cyber-shot QX10 (the lens-camera)
– Cyber-shot QX100 (the lens-camera)
– E 16-70mm F4 (Zeiss lens for around $1,000)
– E PZ 18-105mm F4G OSS

The new stuff will be announced next week (we don’t know yet if on August 27 or 29 or on both days for different products). The QX cameras may be announced along the Honami Z1 on September 4. Major NEX-FF (and A-mount?) stuff could be announced in late September. More about that soon on SAR!

Thanks Digicaminfo for your help and stuff list!

Let's assume the Tamron price is really 1149€ (could be $1199 or $1299 in USA). Would you buy the lens?

Weird: Is Konica Minolta going to join the M43 system?

Share

Since Sony acquired the Minolta A system there were many dreaming a sort of comeback of some great Minolta lenses for the A (and now also E) mount system. But it sounds like Konica-Minolta doesn’t feel addicted to Sony at all. Recent patents spotted by Egami prove that they will indeed restart to make lenses but they will be made for the Micro Four Thirds system only!

I still hope Konica-Minolta will design some lenses for the E-mount system too. Why not make a [shoplink 20428 ebay]50mm f/1.2 MD Rokkor-X (here one eBay)[/shoplink] as E-mount lens? :)

(SR4) High End Zeiss coming for A-mount in 2014?

Share

Last year Zeiss announced a new series of High End Zeiss lenses capable of resolving all the resolution needed for 30+ Megapixel sensors (like the Nikon D800). The first lens they will launch is the Distagon 55mm f/1.4 for Nikon mount (release in late 2013). More info about that lens can be read at Zeiss Blog.

Now according to one source Zeiss will expand their lens offer in 2014. And there will be A-mount versions too! This will happen because Sony will launch 30+ Megapixel cameras soon. Both APS-C and FF cameras are planned to come with either the new 32 or the new 36 Megapixel sensor (not the same from the Nikon D800!).
