The Canon-Nikon FF price war is fully ongoing: Right now the Canon 6D is sold for $1,499 at [shoplink 20397 ebay]BigValue (here on eBay)[/shoplink] and the refurbished D800 sells for the first time below $2000 at [shoplink 20396 ebay]RobertsCamera (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. Sony better keeps those prices in mind when launching the new E and A mount Full Frame cameras. A sub $2,000 36 megapixel A-mount camera would be very very very welcome don’t you agree? :)

(SR5) New Honami i1 leaks (shots 4K, and first full size image sample).

Share

Here is a short roundup of latest Honami leaks: As you know this is a high-end smartphone with built-in 20 Megapixel 1/2.3 inch sensor and 28mm f/2.0 G lens. This smartphone is also supposed to feature a new JPEG engine that could find his way in future A and E mount cameras too and it will also shot 4K video! GSMarena posted new images of the Smartphone while Xperiablog posted the first full size image sample (Click here to see it). The image sample doesn’t really look that good. But it’s hard to say if 1) the image is real and 2) this has been taken with a pre or final production camera.

The new NEX, the Honami, the Lens Camera and the new Action Cameras…there is a lot to come from Sony!

Short break from rumors to report three news:

1) Our friend Kurt Munger (Click here) tested the brand new Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 SSM lens. Conclusions will be posted soon.

2) The Eisa (European Imaging and Sound association) selected the Sony A99 as best advanced camera 2013-2014.

3) Comparison Reviews Zeiss Touit 2.8/12 vs Sony SEL1018 and Touit 1.8/32 vs Sony 1.8/35 OSS vs SLR Magic HyperPrime CINE 35/T0.95 comparison review at 3Dkraft.

And now back to rumor work…

Sony sends out invitations for a September 4 event ( Honami and QX launch!).

Share

ThePhoBlographer received that Sony invitation for a September 4th press event. according to our sources this event is very likely for the new Honami i1 smartphone (with G lens and 1/2.3 inch sensor) and for the QX “lens-cameras” series. The new NEX-5t and 16-70mm Zeiss E-mount lens will be announced earlier (probably August 29). While I expect the NEX-FF (and A-mount stuff?) to be announced in late September.

(SR4) More Zeiss lenses than expected for the new FF system: three to come!

Share

[shoplink 19913 ebay][/shoplink]
Image on top shows the [shoplink 19913 ebay]Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 C Biogon T*[/shoplink] for the M-mount system. A similar (but bigger) lens will be announced for the E-mount FF system.

Trusted sources told me (with my huge surprise) that Sony and Zeiss worked much closer than expected on the soon to come new NEX-FF system. I now have been told that along the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 FF E-mount lens there will be two more Zeiss lenses! A source also told me there would be a Sony branded G zoom lens too. This makes a total of four lenses that will be unveiled along the NEX-FF camera (in September?). I am now trying to convince sources to share the detailed Lens specs.

The rumor is marked SR4 until I get a clear evidence that these lenses are real. Someone has a picture to share? :=)
