The makers of the Canon EOS to E-mount adapter with full AF and Aperture support contacted me to tell me that they just started to sell the adapter through their own [shoplink 15031 ebay]direct eBay Store (Click here to see the auction[/shoplink]). I found it very important to have adapters like that. It will make it easier for many current Canon owners to jump into the Sony NEX world.

And as I told you before the MXcamera will also make a fully AF and aperture supported Contax G and Nikon G adapter! Coming in early 2013!

(SR4) Zeiss lenses for NEX to be released in April!

As you know back in September Zeiss announced that they will release three new NEX lenses in mid 2013 (Source: Zeiss.)! All priced at around 1.000 Euro and with full electronic support (yep AF too!). And as you know the first three lenses are the 12mm f/2.8, 32mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/2.8. Zeiss also said that “Zoom lenses are an option that is still being considered“.

Now some of our sources had a talk with Zeiss representatives. And the unofficial goal for Zeiss is to launch these lenses in April 2013! Same rumor has been posted by Patrick from FujiRumors (the lenses will be available for the X system too). Finally some new high quality glass like the superb [shoplink 8450]Zeiss 24mm f/1.8[/shoplink]!

Back in September I asked you which lens you would buy. This were the results (If you haven’t voted yet than do it to see the results):

One thing I did find out is that like Olympus and Panasonic, Sony also decided to let distortion correction in the lens go and just apply software corrections to fix it.  When you take pictures at 16 mm you don’t see the distortion in the viewfinder or afterwards on the camera. But when you import the RAW files into Lightroom you see a huge distortion and high vignetting. Sham: “I just shot my first batch of wedding photos using the a99. I am not a professional wedding photographer and I was at this wedding as a guest first and photographer second. Just thought I want to share this with you. Lenses used are the SAL70200G SSM & 24-70 Zeiss. ISO800 & ISO1600 used. The a99 really has huge amount of DR to be pushed well in post processing. Converted the RAW files to DNG to be edited in ACR 7.1. That’s the only option available at the moment to process a99’s RAW in ACR.
