Marc from SonyAlphaBlog tested the new Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-2.8 FE lens that just started shipping out last week at BHphoto. Amazon. Adorama. Fotokoch DE. Foto Erhardt DE. Wex UK. Park UK. . He concluded:

The Tamron 35-150mm F2-F2.8 Di III VXD (1800 euros) is a unique lens among all the ones available in Sony E mount: for those who want a single lens for wedding or mode shooting it can replace both a 28-75mm F2.8 and a 70-200mm F2.8
Sharpness is excellent wide open up to 50Mpix camera, but the lens suffer a bit wide open on the A7RIV (61Mpix) with only very good results . Bokeh balls/ Background blur >70mm / color rendition , AF are very good. Ergonomics are excellent with the possibility to customize the various buttons thanks to the Tamron lens utility. Build quality is very good and similar to the Sigma DG DN lenses.
The main downside of this lens is its weight (1165g) and fatness : you will never forgot you carry this lens and you will be tired after a few hours shooting with it.
Other compromise were made : the lens is very good but not the best in several domains : AF is a bit better on the Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 Di III VXD, Bokeh balls are significantly truncated in the border, Background blur is a bit nervous at 35mm, but overall the images produced are beautiful
Very good behavior also in video with a perfectly dampened zoom ring allowing for smooth zooming and the possibility to transform the focusing ring into an aperture ring.
Recommended for weddings or mode photographers who only want to carry one high quality lens on cameras up to 50Mpix
