(SR5) First pictures of the new Sony A35 leaked!!!

And here is the next leak. That’s the Sony A35!!! Like the NEX-C3 that camera was supposed to be announced on April 4th. But due the Japan earthquake the announcement has been delayed. They should be announced within the next weeks.
I would say the design is pretty much the same of the Sony A33/A55. We have been told the A35 has only a few minor improvements and fixes.

2 years ago |Not yet. But I guess they fixed the heating issue.

2 years ago |I somewhat doubt they’ve “fixed” the issue, as it’s not really one caused by the sensor as much as it is the fact that all the electronics are crammed into a tiny area. Hopefully they’ve improved the performance a little though!

2 years ago |Looks like every single APS-C camera since A100. They all feel like cheap plastic toys. Sony, man up and release a real camera to compete with D3x/s.
Erick
2 years ago |They did, it was called the a900 and it was released before the D3x existed. Funnily enough Nikon cameras ALL use Sony sensors too.
I say, once Sony hit the full-frame in an SLT, they will’ve won the game.
James
2 years ago |The Sony A900 is the Sony equivalent camera to the Nikon D700 NOT the D3X. The D3X is a fully professional model with both a build quality and price to match.

Regarding the fixes of the A35: Did you hear anything about fixes for the flash issues? (Flash delay and problems with EVF and studio flashes / wireless triggers). It would be interesting to find out if they release a fresh firmware fixes for A33 and A55 with the A35. The idea would be that they A35 would have a more recent firmware and at the same time this could be compatible to the A33/A55.

2 years ago |If theres a model refresh (A33 to A35) then the hardware has likely changed. Since “minor refresh” has been mentioned several times, it could be a slight mod to the hardware – perhaps as simple as adding a heatsink to the components that were likely to overheat. In otherwords, something a firmware update could not fix. Of course, Sony has likely thrown in an updated firmware to fix a few bugs. I doubt that there would be any new major features.

There don’t have to be any new major features – it would be enough to fix the annoying software bugs of the first releases
Anony
2 years ago |Neonsquare, one can assume that the firmware update is relatively easy to do (compared to making an entirely new model, printing new boxes, new ads, etc). My guess is that we’ll see a few hardware fixes as well as the software updates. Likely no (or very few/small) new features though. Ideally, high ISO performance would be cleaned up as well. I’m considering buying either the A35 and the A55. I don’t need the GPS capability of the A55 but it has slightly better high ISO performance in low light. Either way, both cameras have lots of advantages over the competition.

2 years ago |My educated guess will be fixing ‘studio mode EVF’, improving overheating issues, slap A55 sensor and maybe slightly better EVF.

2 years ago |If they upgrade the sensor, then it will be a no brainer for me. A35, here I come! Ah, the anticipation!
zenman
2 years ago |I don’t see how either a new sensor, or any overheating fix, would be considered “minor”.
If these we part of the A35, the A55 would be of questionable value at the current price A33/A55 price gap.

2 years ago |You can not buy either the alpha33 or the a-mount Sony 35mm 1.8 prime lens at any Best Buy in the country or online. My guess is that they pulled all the inventory and the new alpha35 may use the e mount lenses like the NEX series uses. If memory serves me right a report from engadget months ago stating that Sony was releasing manufacturing specs to other lens makers to encourage them to produce more e mount lenses like Sigma and Tamron.
Speculation on my part but it seems to make sense and I haven’t seen anyone make that connection between that press release months ago and now. Also as I have been looking at the a33 for a couple of weeks now I can tell you that just last week the a33 was available (Body only) on the Best Buy website and now all you can get is the complete set up with the body and kit lens as a package.

2 years ago |If the A35 uses E mount lenses, that would definitely be more than a minor change.

No Swivable or Articulating screen unfortunately…………
