Lats week I told you that in February Sony will announce a bunch of new lenses. Miguel Quiles made a wishlist of lenses he wants to see in 2019.

Just for fun…

This simple image shows you why the Sony A7 8K Full Frame cameras are not coming any time soon

The past weeks I leaked the specs of the first Sony 8K Full frame sensor. But I also warned you that final cameras might not have 8K. And the image on top t posted by Panasonic shows in an easy way why 8K on small cameras like the A7-A9 are yet not possible.

This new Panasonic FF camcorder that will be on market by late 2019 has a huge amount of ventilation vents holes necessary to dissipate the amount of heat produced by the processor. I guess it’s impossible for now to have an A7-A9 body with 8k30p…

Competition news: Panasonic S1/S1R cameras will be announced on Jan 31

I got solid confirmation that Panasonic will release the new S1-S1R Full Frame mirrorless on January 31. It means they will unveil the full camera specs and pricing with first shipment expected by late March.
The news matters also because those cameras will have some features that current Sony E-mount cameras do not have like:

– 4k 60p
– 100% weather sealing
– HLG photo
– Deep learning AI (we have to see if this is a marketing gimmick or somethign more “serious”)

The Fuji X-T3 is currently the king in the APS-C world and the Panasonic might yet ebcome the king in the FF world. Sony has to answer on both fronts soon!
