This comes via a highly trusted source: Sony Online Store Europe will close tonight. The website will remain online as it is but they will not directly take orders anymore.

One more thing: And if what the source is right on this…well than you should know this too: He also told me Sony plans to release the A6xxx as next E-mount camera within 1 month. So if he is right on the store closure there is a fair chance he is right on the camera too…

The official Sony Russia registration of a new 24-70mm FE GM lens.

First I want to apologize: Obviously the one source who said Sony would announce now 7 new lenses at the IBC show was wrong. He contacted me back and said the lenses were only discussed in private (with other photographers and bloggers) and not in public. He misunderstood the message he got from Sony.

But I have good news for the folks anyway!
I got feedback from a couple of sources who talked with Sony at the IBC show. Both Sony and Zeiss will announce new FE lenses in exactly 1 month (mid October)!

1. One of those lenses is rumored to be the 21mm Loxia (SR4 for now). Not sure yet if they did choose the [shoplink 9804 ebay]Biogon T* 2,8/21 ZM (jere on eBay)[/shoplink] or the
   [shoplink 9804 ebay]C Biogon T* 4,5/21 ZM (here on eBay)[/shoplink] design as basis for the new lens.
2. Sony Russia already registered the new 24-70mm FE GM lens 30 day. So this lens is coming too. (SR4). I am still wondering what the new “FE GM” definition will be all about…
3. One fast prime and one telephoto FE zoom on the roadmap too (SR3)
4. Two updated A-mouny lenses (SR3)
5. Unclear what’s more on the FE roadmap…

The rumor is ranked as SR5 as multiple (and not only one) confirmed the lenses will be show at PhotoPlus. So this one has a 90% chance to be true.

Bruno from Lesnumeriques asked Sony about the future A-mount lenses and the short answer he got is:

Well this could mean the end of the APS-C A-mount system. I still do hope Sony will not “forget” to launch a new A99II soon. Otherwise A-mount people will really go upset!

New lenses: Still no news about the new A and E-mount lenses to come. But I am sure we will get news very soon (3-4 weeks from now). Proof of that is that Sony Russia already registered the new 24-70mm FE GM lens 30 days ago:

Yesterday two anonymous sources sent me two different A6100 specs. I got two updates to report: The first source who said the A6100 has no 4K is plain wrong. And a third new source shared some more specs tonight. But also in that case I am really sceptic about the specs validity:

32mp BSI
5-axis IBIS
Much better ISO
4K
285 PDAF points
New EVF (larger T* viewfinder 0.75x)
14.5fps
Smaller than A6000, less weight too
No weather sealing
Mic-input
Only comes in black

Still, this info is coming from a new source so take it with a grain of salt. All I know from trusted sources is that a new A6xxx is definitely coming in September or early October at max.

Full September 11 announcement rumor recap:

SR5 (two trusted source confirmed this): New Sony PXW-FS5 E-mount camcorder. S35 sensors. 4K internally, but 8 bit XAVC-L (note the L) 100 Mbit max. No HFR as far as I can tell, 30fps max in 4K. Looks like a baby FS7. Price will be between old FS700 and current FS7, likely $5,000-6,500 USD. Differentiation on FS7 is much better CODEC, higher frame rates (incl 60p 4K), option for RAW and ProRes, bigger build.
SR4 (one trusted source heard this): Sony will announce 7 new lenses (some in development and some for real). Among them we have new FE telephoto lens(es), fast portrait prime, 24-70mm GM and maybe some “Updated” A-mount lenses.
SR4 (two trusted source heard about this): A60000 successor to be announced between now and PhotoPlus. Note: The rumor is not SR5 because it happened once that Sony delayed the announcement of that camera. Don’t want to bring bad luck again :)
SR3 (one anonymous source): New A6000 successor to be announced on September 11.

The following rumor comes via a trusted source! He told me Sony will announce seven new lenses. He didn’t share any details if among them there will be the rumored “Updated” A-mount lenses. But there will be definitely new E-mount lenses unveiled. Some of the will be available by end of the year and some of them in 2016 only.

So far we heard one FE telephoto lens, one FE  portrait lens, one 24-70mm FE GM are coming. And also two updated 85mm and 135mm A-mount lenses could be announced tomorrow.

A source told me that among the new FE lenses that Sony will show in autumn there will be certainly a new FE tele zoom lens and the long time rumored fast portrait lens. He added that most of the other new FE lenses will ship in 2016 only :(
