(SR5) Breaking news: Sony NEX-3 successor to be announced today (live stream will be included!).

The High End E-mount and A-mount APS-C camera will be announced in late January or early February. But Sony wants to give us a small present today (or tomorrow for EU and Asia). They will announce the new Sony NEX-3 successor!

Sony will stream the announcement live and I will embed the live stream video on SAR. The press conference will start at January 1am tonight (London time). This means it will be 8pm this evening in New York, or 5pm in Las Vegas or 2 o clock in the night in Berlin or 11 in the morning in Tokyo.

Stay tuned on SAR tonight and the following days! The NEX-7 successor, A77 successor and some surprise coming the next weeks and months!!!

(SR3) There will be an “R” version of the new High End APS-C E-mount camera?

New E-mount cameras will be split in two versions just like the RX.

A new source just notified me that Sony will actually launch two High End APS-C E-mount cameras. The second camera will be an “R” version which means a camera without Anti Aliasing filter. Just like the Sony RX1 and RX1R. He said the cameras will be announced soon and that matches with the timing I got from my trusted sources. The new E-mount and A-mount cameras are going to be announced in late January or early February right before the Japanese CP+ show. There will be some new lenses too!

Stay tuned on SAR! Exciting time ahead and I finally have some time to work more on grabbing rumors for you.

OK, just to tease you a bit: There will be surprises I didn’t tell you about ;)

(SR4) Three E-mount (APS-C) and on A-mount (APS-C) camera to be announced between now and Photokina.

The A77 will be replaced soon.

A known source told me that he got the info that four Sony APS-C camera will be released between now and Photokina. Three of them will be E-mount and one of them A-mount with SLT mirror.

I already told you that there will be a new High End E-mount and an A77 successor soon. The other two cameras are likely to be entry level E-mount cameras.

(SR3) First details about the new generation A-mount cameras…

A new source wrote this:

I was left some specifications for that ff and aps-c size A-mound cameras. both has WiFi and NFC tech. Improved JPEG engine. aps-c A-mount has lock on selector dial (same as a99 dial lock). LCD for aps-c camera improved 912k resolution to 1.2k resolution screen. Translucent mirror reflection down 30% to 20%. improved phase detection AF sensor. both has same 19 point AF 11 cross type(same as a77 and a99). the name for both cameras still classified.”

I am now working to get all the camera specs. As I told you before there is plenty of new cameras coming soon (late January-early February). This includes a new High End APS-C E-mount camera and at least two A-mount cameras. But I am pretty sure there could be more cameras too (for example RX and entry level E-mount). Stay tuned on SAR. Hot times ahead of us!

Digital Zeiss Ikon design by Vladimir Markov.

Vladimir Markov posted these Zeiss Ikon digital concept pictures at Cargocollective.com. As you probably know Zeiss once designed a superb [shoplink 23713 ebay]Zeiss Ikon M-mount camera (to find here on eBay)[/shoplink]. It was a sort of cheaper Leica M alternative. I would certainly welcome Zeiss designing an E-mount FF cameras a simple and elegant as the Zeiss Ikon ZM!

(SR4) 4 mio dot EVF for the next generation of A.mount cameras.

And the next source claims to know that the new generation A-mount cameras will feature a brand new EVF. This time the resolution will go up to around 4mio dot. And he also confirms that at least two A-mount cameras are scheduled for a Spring release!

We have an exciting time ahead of us! Wish You a good jump into the new year ;)

(SR4) First few Hybrid A-E mount model details.

The new Hybrid A-E mount Sony camera will be launched between late 2014 and early 2015. It will look like a Sony SLT camera and target the High End market. I have been told that it has a lever to lift off the A-mount so that you can use the E-mount instead. I know this sounds quite strange, but the source used exactly these words…
