World’s first review of the Yasuhara Anthy 35mm f/1.8 FE lens: “Bokeh is really beautiful”

Share

The Anthy 35mm f/1.8 is the first Full Frame E-mount lens made by Yasuhara. The lens is entirely designed and build in Japan. Marc Alhadeff posted the world’s first review of this lens on SonyAlphaBlog and concluded:

The Yasuhara Anthy 35mm F1.8 (299$) is a pleasant surprise. It is not meant to be a super sharp all purpose lens , it is targeting more users looking for Artistic rendering for portrait or street photography. Considering this results are perfectly usable at F1.8 with good sharpness but little glow / not perfect contrast, and the lens really shine at F2.8. Color rendering is warm and Bokeh is really beautiful and the lens really give a special look that I really like.

The lens is yet not listed at Amazon or BHphoto

DxO RX100 VII sensor review: “doesn’t quite match the exceptional imaging performance of the previous generation”

Share

DxO tested the Sony RX100VII and concluded:

With sensors larger than those found in typical compacts, offering 20MP resolution and high image quality with low noise, and with dynamic range approaching that of some interchangeable-lens camera, the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 series has come to define an enthusiast’s advanced compact ever since it was introduced in 2012.

Although it doesn’t quite match the exceptional imaging performance of the previous generation of 1-inch type BSI CMOS sensor, the Sony RX100 VII’s newly-developed “stacked” sensor comes very close. With its built-in DRAM and enhanced PDAF providing a number of benefits, along with the Real-Time Tracking AF feature, it seems a fair tradeoff. All in all, with its new capabilities and solid image quality, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VII looks like one of the most compelling compacts available.

I guess it’s the bigger 24-200mm lens that makes it performs worse than the RX100 versions with the 24-70mm lens
