We here by announce the availability of a firmware update for Tokina FíRIN 20mm F2 FE AF lens.

Benefits of this firmware update
With this firmware update the auto-focus performance of Tokina FíRIN 20mm F2 FE AF in AF-C mode at high-speed shooting (Hi+/Hi/Mid) when used with Sony α7III, Sony α7RIII, Sony α9 cameras will be improved (when used with Sony α9 auto-focus tracking will work only in Mechanical Shutter type AF-C mode). The most exicting new Sigma lens for Sony is the 105mm f/1.4 Bokeh Monster (preorder at BHphoto, FocusCamera, Amazon and Adorama). The E-mount version is rumored to ship in late Summer only but Takuya Ikeda shared some image samples shot with the Canon version using the MC-11 adapter on the Sony A9:

(SR5) New Zeiss 40mm f/2.0 Batis and new Sony camera to be announced this summer

With all the RX100VI buzz it’s time to recap the two SR5 rumors you might have missed or forgotten about:

(SR5) Zeiss 40mm Batis:
Zeiss is testing a new Batis 40mm f/2.0 CF FE lens. The lens will be announced between now and Photokina. These are the lens specs:

Distagon optical design
The shortest shooting distance is 0.24 m
With focus limiter (Full / ∞ ~ 0.4 m / 0.5 m to 0.24 m)
Filter diameter is 67 mm
Batis Size close to 85mm (40mm is slightly smaller)

(SR5) Sony camera:
Sony will announce a new camera within 1-2 months. In Asia they registered a new model with code “WW213188”. We don’t know yet what it will be: A6700, A7sIII or a new compact camera?
Sony will also launch the long teased 400mm FE launch in August-September.

One more thing: Also Sigma, Samyang and other comapnies are likely to announce new lenses at Photokina in September and at the New York show in October.

Sigma released new firmware updates for the MC-11 adapter and lenses:

Sigma MC-11 EF-E             2018/06/12            v.1.14

  • It has become compatible with the SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM｜Art for Canon.
  • It has become compatible with the SIGMA interchangeable lenses for Canon that have the latest firmware Ver.2.01.

Art lenses (e.g. 1.4/50)   2018/06/12            v2.01

  • It has corrected the phenomenon that the continuous shooting speed of some SIGMA interchangeable lenses with firmware Ver.2.00 decreases in certain combinations with some cameras.
