Surprise: New Zeiss lens price lower than expected!

Share

SAR reader MAX found the first official price info about the new Touit Zeiss E-mount lenses! The well known German store Sauter posted the following info:
Touit 32mm f/1.8 for 799 Euro (Click here).
Touit 12mm f/2.8 for 1099 Euro (Click here).

These are very high quality lenses with full autofocus and aperture control. And particularly the price of the 32mm lens is much lower than expected. You pay 300 Euro more than the [shoplink 18180 ebay]Sony 35mm 1.8[/shoplink] but I am sure the Zeiss will easily outperform the Sony.

To get notified when these lenses will be sold on eBay join my Slidoo-eBay website and save this searches: Touit 32mm and Touit 12mm. You will can change the country in your settings. And here is the HowTo to learn how all this works (P.S.: Slidoo Amazon is in the works and will be announced in a few weeks).

P.S.:Sony price check at [shopcountry 18180].

Max Angeloni RX1 review: “1cm far from perfection” (and in Stock for $2,516)

[shoplink 18165 ebay]

[/shoplink]
The super RX1 deal on [shoplink 18165 ebay]eBay US (only three left in Stock)[/shoplink].

Well known photographer Massimiliano Angeloni (Click here) tested the RX1. He wrote that the camera is only 1cm far from perfection: “That centimeter in which there should be space for the sophisticated Trufinder 2 OLED (the viewfinder), a more useful battery, a more rational dial layout with the shutter speed dial.” Max is a well known Fuji photographer that finally started to use Sony cameras thanks to the RX1. We can argue a lot about Sony’s NEX and Alpha strategy but on the RX line Sony did almost everything right with the RX100 and RX1!

UPDATE: Also EosHD (Click here) just published the full RX1 review: ” I’ve been looking for a stealthy street camera with that Henri Cartier Bresson magic for a long time and now I finally have it, without resorting to the expense of a Leica system.

And if you argue about the RX1 price than check the tree Open Box RX1 for sale at Top Rated Seller [shoplink 18165 ebay]Beachcamera on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. And if you need a grip check out the new JB grip at Amazon US (Click here).

(SR4) A-mount lens roadmap didn’t change. 70-200mm, 400mm and one more “suprise” coming.

Share

The A-mount camera roadmap may changed and if the rumors I got are correct we will have to wait until early 2014 to see the first next generation A-mount cameras. And honestly I can’t wait to see if Sony can keep up the promise for a real huge step forward in the camera tech.

And according to one trusted source what didn’t change at all seems to be the A-mount lens roadmap. The updated 70-200mm, the 400mm and one more “surprise” and “completely new” A-mount lens will be announced within the next 6-10 months.

Reminder (SR = Sonyrumor):
SR1=probably fake rumor
SR2=rumor from unknown sources
SR3=50% chance it is correct
SR4=rumor from known sources
SR5=almost certainly correct!

Zeiss announces the new E-mount lenses and names them “Touit”.

Share

Zeiss Blog (Click here) unveiled the final name of the upcoming three Zeiss E-mount lenses. The name of the lens family will be “Touit“. If you are wondering where the heck Zeiss found that name her eis the original Zeiss explanation: “We decided to derive the future names of the lenses from the Latin names of birds. That fits well, as birds usually have excellent eyesight and can take unusual perspectives. Birds are also diverse and lively animals. Furthermore, the Latin names all have an attractive sound and are common in many languages and cultures.

Touit is pronounced like the English “do it. As we told you before two lenses will be available for preorder from May 7 and those are the Touit 2.8/12 and Touit 1.8/32 (Click on the name to visit the detailed specs page). The third lens, the 50mm f/2.8 macro will be announced by end 2013.
