Share

A SAR reader sent me this info about a possible new Sony sensor. He shared this text too:

Sony released the information of a zigzag manner pixel type, high-speed 12lane SLVS-EC 5G, 61 megapixels full-frame Exmor R sensor for value-added reseller. This sesnor has 3.76um pixel size but 45-degree rotated, to output 120 megapixels for industry or security application.

Four new Rubinar lenses

Share

The russian company Shavbe announced four new lenses:

  • MC RUBINAR 1000/10 Macro
  • MC RUBINAR 500/8 Macro
  • MC RUBINAR 500/5.6 Macro
  • MC RUBINAR 300/4.5 Macro

There is no specific mention of this being E-mount but you can find image samples shot on a Sony camera at vk.com.

Here is the google translated press text:

“Shvabe has released updated Rubinar mirror-lens lenses

Moscow, February 01, 2021 Press Release
The line is represented by lenses with focal lengths of 300, 500 and 1000 mm, which are suitable for creative and astronomical photography. The developers of Shvabe Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation have updated the design and improved technical characteristics.
MC Rubinar 10/1000 Macro, MC Rubinar 8/500 Macro, MC Rubinar 5,6/500 Macro and MC Rubinar 4,5/300 Macro are now on sale. The new versions of these devices got a redesigned lens hood, improved matte inner surfaces, and enlightened optical details – which is especially relevant for digital photography.
The metal body is not made from a tube, but milled from a billet. Such a solution ensured a higher manufacturing accuracy and stability of the optical circuit during operation. The Lytkarinsky Optical Glass Plant (LZOS) of Shvabe, which developed the products, notes: at the moment Rubinar is the only serial mirror-lens lens in Russia with such characteristics.
“The lenses have become more modern in their new guise and have gained a number of advantages. For example, creative people will enjoy bokeh in the form of rings and macro mode. At the same time, our specialists retained the M42 mount thread for greater unification with all existing mounts through simple and inexpensive adapters. Currently, the first production batch has been manufactured,” noted Alexander Ignatov, LZOS General Director.
For astrophotographers, LZOS developers offer an additional service of lens adjustment “MS Rubinar 10/1000 Macro”. This model is suitable for photographing the surface of the Moon, stars and planets of the Solar System.

Personal note: Still blogging from inside the COVID-19 center

Right at this moment the worse place in Europe in terms of COVID-19 incidence is the region of South Tyrol where I do live (after having moved from Belgium last summer). I am the only one inside the center reporting with videos and photos about what’s going on.

I am telling you this because now it’s rumor time: Sony will announce the FX3 on Feb 23 and Sigma will announce the new 28-70mm f/2.8 FE on Feb 24. I should be able to cover everything from inside the station but just to be sure I asked Patrick from Fujirumors to kindly be my backup in case leaks have to be posted on SAR. So if you read something like “Fuji is much better than Sony” on one of next SAR’s article you know it’s him :)

Technical note: I am shooting basically the entire documentary on the Sony A7rIV and the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 FE. Will explain why I use this lens another time…but it has to do with privacy and noise :)

Two pics I took a couple of nights ago:

I have a ton of videos and photos and only started very recently to tease some of these on my website andreapizzini.com, on my Instagram channel, Flickr and 500px. Feel free to follow me there!

at the osprey scene, you will see me shaking up the camera erratically, i want to see if the camera will pick up on something else but it still locked to the eye

Rafael writes:

Maybe that’s something for you: I’m just reviewing the Sony A1 and as a sideproject I managed to edit the 8K footage on an iPad. Plus I found a trick to even export the whole 8K project and render it on a Mac since the iPad can’t yet render 8K videos.
