One of our readers noticed that the A77m2 SLT mirror part has been marked as “no longer available” at Andrews Electronic. Not sure though this is just the store that will stop doing the camera reparation or if that it’s a worldwide stop of translucent mirror production.

Ilovehatephoto interviewed Zeiss managers and got those interesting answers:

1) About future FE lenses: “we can expect about 5 new Full-Frame E-mount lenses, including 2 to 3 new ones in 2016.”
2) About macro and tilt shift lenses: “We are well aware of the lack of specialty lenses in the FE-mount system and we are working on developing some for this system. ”
3) About the Batis backorder issue: “We have to admit that we have been surprised by how popular the A7 markII series (A7II, A7rII and now the A7sII) has become over the past few months. The demand for the Batis lenses have been a lot higher than expected. We are working on this to reduce the waiting time as quickly as possible.”
4) About wide angle lens development: “The short flange distance between the sensor and the rear element is an engineering challenge for ultra wide-angle lenses.”

Furthermore Zeiss stressed to say that their focus is on the Full Frame E-mount system and they do not plan to release any new Touit lens for the ASP-C system any time soon.

Sony just announced the new Sony A68. And the Sony A6100 should come very soon too! One of the sources who shared the A68 release info also said he knows the ASP-C E-mount camera will be announced within weeks in a much more “bigger event”.

So far we have some undconfirmed A6100 specs and info via three new sources:

An anonymous source sent me this info about two future APS-C cameras. As this is a new source there is not a high chance the rumor is true. But it’s certainly an exciting news if the rumor turns out to be true! He wrote:

“A7000 and A61(5)00 testing. Exmor R 28 MP with 399PDAF”

I don’t know if it makes a lot of sense to have two cameras with the same sensors. Don’t know what the A7000 extra features will be to justify the camera existence…

Reminder:

Sony organized a special “Sony Surprise” event in Stockholm (Source: sthlm.fotomassan.se). It scheduled on Friday at 11:00 local time. For sure we will see a new A68 camera. And still unconfirmed is if Sony will also show the new E-mount lenses and cameras too!
