Press 1: On Friday Sony will announce the new 4K camcorder leaked last week. They may show the 2500 Euro expensive 28-135mm f/4.0 powerzoom too.
Press 2: The next press conference follows on Monday Sept 15 at 16:00 Berlin time. That’s when we will get the other new A and E-mount lenses like the 35 1.4(G/ZA) and 70-300G II A-mount and the 16-35mm FE and 90mm macro FE lens. Also an updated FE lens roadmap with 85mm lens included for 2015 release. Where I am still not 100% sure yet is the camera list. Best candidates are the A99II and new RX camera. But the bigger news is coming after Photokina and about that I will write and publish a post soon!

You may have noticed that I posted many lens and QX rumors and little about cameras. But I actually did (and I am still doing) a lot of “behind the scene” camera rumor work! The reason why I have been quiet the last weeks is because I got major news with some surprises and I wanted to spill out the rumors only when I was sure about the rumors I got. I am now very close to get some final answers and I ask you just a bit of patience.
All I can tell for now is that Photokina is not the place for these “BIG” Sony surprises. But I have damn good news: You will not have to wait a long time after Photokina either…

This is going to be a hot lens for all E-mount camera owners. Hot and $4,490 expensive I should add :) And we learned that Zeiss will announce it within a few hours at 14:00 (2pm) London time. That’s:
6am in San Francisco
9am in NYC
15:00 in Berlin
22:00 in Tokyo
First preorders will be online at exactly that time!

One of our very good Zeiss sources (Many thanks man!) just told us that the new Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 will be announced tomorrow (September 8). And it will cost 500 Euro more than the current [shoplink 28693 ebay]Zeiss Otus 55mm lens (around 3445 Euro here on eBay)[/shoplink]. UPDATE: I have been told US price is $4,490.00!
The price is justified by the fact that the new 85mm Otus is really “much better” than the current 55mm Otus!
Current E-mount camera owners with plenty of $$$ on their bank account could be tempted to buy that. Otherwise wait for cheaper and still amazing good 85mm FE lens that is likely to come next year :)

Sony Japan posted the teaser for the new 16-35mm f/4.0 FE lens. The lens will be announced along the 28-135mm Powerzoom. Announcement date could be September 12 (E-mount 4K launch) or the day before Photokina (September 15).
