(SR5) New image of the Zeiss Loxia 35mm lens. Announcement on September 1-2.

The image on top shows the new Zeiss Loxia 35mm f/2.0 Biogon Full Frame E-mount lens. Just like the yesterday leaked 50mm Loxia this is a manual focusing lens with electronic aperture control.

At the Zeiss really took inspiration from their ZM lens line as both new Loxia match the specs and kind of “general” design of these two:
[shoplink 9808 ebay]Biogon T* 2/35 ZM (here on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9809 ebay]Planar T* 2/50 ZM (here on eBay)[/shoplink].

I have been told that Zeiss will announce those lenses within the next 3-4 days, likely on Monday or Tuesday!  And these will be just the first two lenses of five to come within the next 6-12 months!

(SR5) First image of the new Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2.0 Planar lens!

This is the worldwide first published image of the new Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2.0 Planar E-mount Full Frame lens. Like I told you before Zeiss will soon announce a new line for Full Frame E-mount which also includes the Zeiss 35mm f/2.0 Biogon. These lenses are just like the Touit for the APS-C E-mount system: Made by Zeiss itself (not Zeiss branded Sony the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 FE). But the Loxia lenses will be manual focusing and with electronic aperture control. And unlike current Sony FE lenses the Loxia comes with a handy physical aperture ring.

The 50mm you see on top has a Planar design just like the “original” [shoplink 9809 ebay]Planar T* 2/50 ZM (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. These are the full lens specs of the Loxia 50mm:
Planar® with 6 lens elements in 4 groups
Focal length 50 mm
Aperture range f/2.0–f/22
Elements/groups 6/4
Focusing range m/ft 0.45–∞/1.48–∞
Field angle* (diag./horiz./vert.) 46.78°/39.38°/26.70°
Coverage** mm/inch 255.1 x 168.3/10.04 x 6.63

(SR3) A99II will ship early 2015.

I got this info from different sources: The new A99 successor will ship early 2015. The weird thing I heard from one of those sources is that the camera may be announced 2-3 months AFTER Photokina. I don’t know what this means. Maybe Sony is only going to display a prototype of the A99 successor at photokina without releasing specs with full announcement coming 2-3 months after.

Anyway, so far I also don’t have 100% reliable specs. I got some info about the use of the 36MP sensor and a built-in vertical grip But I would rate that SR3 only for now…

(SR4) Sigma’s plan is to release new Sigma A-mount lenses 6 months after th Canon/Nikon version

I got some highly reliable info about Sigmas A-mount lens plan. According to that source Sigma will always try to release the A-mount version of their new lenses 6 months after the release of the Canon/Nikon version. They do this “in order to judge market viability for this lens line in the future“. Those are the sources word.

Thanks Source!

Short thank you to all sources and readers helping me out in those busy days!

I am really going crazy here with news and rumors and want two share two short messages:

1) To sources
Thanks to all good and fake (LOL) rumor sources for sending me a lot of info in these days. Please keep in mind that I usually need some time to double-check the info I get. So don’t feel bad if you don’t see your rumor posted within hours of your sent message.

2) To readers
Thanks for sharing news. Please be patient too with your news/review or personal work you shared. I have a lot of news to post in these days and can’t keep up with all of them. Will try to post the all as soon as I can.

As usual you can sue the anonymosu form to contact me. No data gets stored (no name, no email required):

(SR1) An impossible rumor about the A7x :)

Of course I keep receiving some impossible rumor. And it happens only one time out of ten these kind of rumors are really true. Anyway, just for fun here is a highly unlikely rumor that if one day would really become true would really create some buzz on the web:

A7x 50MP FE Camera to be announced at Photokina.
6fps
Similar ISO performance to A7

Just a curiosity: Last time I got such an impossible rumor was in March when a new source told me a half a million ISO E-mount FF camera would be announced soon. Guess what, the source was right and the A7s came. So if the A7x will really become true I wills end a bottle of good red wine to the source. But, I think he will not be right and I will keep the bottle for my personal use :)

(SR3) New Pro Cinema camera to come from Sony?

Image on top shows the current FS100.

I got first tidbits about a new E-mount Pro Cinema Camera that will replace the current FS100 . Of course it will record 4K video and will be competitively priced against the Canon C100 an C300.

I got no info yet about when exactly this will be announced. I guess soon…
