Cnet says they don’t believe our “Lens-Camera” rumor is true. Wanna bet I am right? :)

The screenshot has been grabbed from that Youtube video from Cnet. They don’t believe on the rumor posted by SonyAlphaRumors and made a bit of fun on us :)

Now, dear Cnet…you wanna bet with me that the rumor is correct? If I am wrong I send you a couple of superb french bottle of wine. If I am right you could offer a couple of beers when I will visit you in NYC. Deal?

Now something more interesting for our readers: The same sources that told us about the “Lens-Camera” also shared info on the NEX-FF and the Honami Smartphone-camera. And at least the last one has been officially confirmed via FCC registration (Source: GSMarena). Be ready for a round of beer Cnet guys! And to SAR readers, be ready to read some new NEX-FF rumor soon! ;)

(SR3) New 55-150 f/2.8 G E-mount zoom to be released in September

I got info about a new E-Mount zoom lens. Sony could launch the new 55-150mm f/2.8 G zoom lens in September. it will be announced along the new NEX ASP-C cameras and the 16-xx mm zoom lens. This would be the first high quality and fast mid range zoom for the NEX system. I do not have info about the price but the lens will ship in October-November.

I hope it's...

(SR3) Three APS-C and two FF A-mount mirrorless cameras to come in 2014.

A source sent me the new Sony roadmap and it looks like five new A-mount cameras will hit the stores in 2014. I still don’t know yet if some of these cameras will be already announced this year (for preorders only). Anyway, according to my source there will be three APS-C A-mount cameras and two new FF A-mount cameras. The specs of the A79 can be read on yesterday’s post. The three APS-C cameras should be the A59, A69 and A79. I don’t know yet the names of the two new FF cameras.

I have been told all five cameras are a major leap forward in terms of tech advancements. Everything is hugely improved. let’s hope that what sounds good on paper is also good in reality :)

I am also working on the new NEX-FF and NEX-APS-C roadmap. NEX-5T will definitely come and so the DSLR shaped NEX. I am almost sure the NEX-FF will also arrive this year and maybe the NEX-7 successor too.

I ask all sources to help me out by sending the rumors anonymously by using the contact form on the right sidebar. Avoid to send me name and email address, a plain message does it! And if you want to be ranked as “trusted source” use some kind of nickname so that I can recognize you in future messages. Thanks!

(SR3) Specs of the new A79 prototype camera!

Amazon (Click here) extended the SLT rebate auction until supplies last. Which means that they are clearing the stocks before the new A-mount camera generation will be announced. And finally we got some specs about one of the new cameras:

What you will read here are the data from a A79 prototype camera. I have been told that at this stage almost 90% of the specs should remain the same of the final production version. This is the A-mount mirrorless cameras that will be in Stock in early 2014 (don’t know when it will be announced). Here are the specs:

– 32mpix exmor hd chip (new generation)
– 4 gb buffer
– full mirrorless focus, 480 focus points
– evf 4mpix
– 8-14 fps/sec
– Magnesium body
– There will be a new vertical grip too (compatible also with current SLT cameras).
I have been told that also the look changed a tiny bit and it somehow reminds of the old [shoplink 19759 ebay]Minolta 700si (you can find them here on eBay)[/shoplink].

[shoplink 19759 ebay][/shoplink]
.

The 480 focus points are possible because of a new on sensor phase detection technology. I have been told it’s very fast and reliable. Simething that on paper should put into the shadow the new Canon 70D dual hybrid AF performance.

So how does this sound for you?

New Honami i1 pictures…

Phonearena posted new pics of the Honami smartphone that features a 1/2.3 inch sensor with Sony 28mm G lens. It will be announced on September 4th and this may be the day they will announce the “lens-camera” too.

The i1 smartphone also features a new JPEG engine. This one could be used by future Sony E-A mount cameras too!

(SR5) More info about the “bodyless” Lens-camera. And a good NEX-FF news.

As I told you end of last week Sony will soon release a revolutionary bodyless Lens camera. It’s basically a lens with integrated sensor and built-in WiFi and NFC. This will allow you to control the “Lens-Camera” via any mobile device. We got some more bits on the camera. There will be two of them:

1) One is the already mentioned “Lens-camera” with RX100MII sensor and  Zeiss lens.
2) The second model will feature a 10xzoom lens with 1/2,3 inch 18 megapixel CMOS sensor.

And I have good news for the E-mount folks. One of the trusted sources that shared info on this Lens-Camera confirmed that Sony is ready to launch the NEX-FF. I will post some specs and lens info soon. Stay tuned on SAR. Massive Sony rumors and news coming the next weeks!
