10 days ago I leaked the info about the new 60MP and 36MP with 16bit and 8K recording. Some still didn’t trust my SR5 rumor but today I am happy to share the full spec sheet of the new 36MP sensor. This should convince the hardcore skeptics :)

Like I told you before: This sensor is meant to be used by third party camera manufacturers too. As usual keep in mind that cameras using that sensor might NOT use the full capabilities of this sensor. The bottleneck is the processor and overall camera design (aka overheating issues). The future A7sIII could sue this sensor (less likely) or a variation of this sensor (more likely).

Got word on a new Sony FF sensor, Exmor R, 54MP, 4um photosite, essentially a full frame version of A6500 sensor. Also, Sony Semicon supplied Fujifilm the sensor for X-T3, the latest gen 3.76um photosite architecture seen on IMX411/IMX461 medium format sensors, BSI+copper interconnect+16bit ADC.

The Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN C offers a fantastic performance, superb sharpness in particular, and a reasonable price tag. All round, a very satisfactory and desirable lens. A slight downside is the fiddly nature of some of the mirrorless cameras, with many functions tucked away in menus as opposed to dedicated switches and dials. This is not the fault of the lens though, which handles totally smoothly.
But in terms of a fast, short telephoto that is unobtrusive, works efficiently and delivers superb results the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN C is absolutely an Editor’s Choice.
