Sony A9II analysis by Jim Kasson: The camera is much less of a star eater than the A7rIV

The Sony “star-eater” digital signal processing doesn’t start until the shutter speed is 20 seconds or longer, which is quite an improvement over the a7RIV.

RUMOR: The six new Tamron FE lenses will all be unveiled in 2020. None of them is likely to be a fast prime

The recent Tamron teaser  image for the now announced four new FE lenses

A  source just told me this:

Just wanted to confirm and qualify the 6 lens rumor from Tamron. The quote I got was “I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw 6 new lenses by the end of next year.” I don’t know if that includes the 20 and 70-180 since the Tamron manager I spoke with at PhotoPlus sad “by the end of next year.”

He also revealed that they have absolutely no plans on making fast primes any time soon, but that they will “probably get to them eventually.” Not on the roadmap, so no one should get their hopes up in that regard.

SAR note: I guess that some of the new lenses might be unveiled in 2020 but available in 2021 only. And yes, priority will be new zooms like  for example a  new 150-600mm FE?
