Rumor says Sigma still uncertain if they will release the new 70-200mm lens for E-mount in September

The bokeh beast at BHphoto and Adorama.

I just got a short note from a Sigma source:

Sigma will announce new lenses on September possibly 70-200 but they don’t know if it’s possible to make for Sony e-mount .

Sigma officially stated that making E-mount zooms is complicated because of the autofocus algorithm. Let’s see if Sigma can tackle this issue in time for the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens launch at Photokina.

JB Sony A7III Wood Grip XL Black-1.jpg

Today jbcameradesigns.com announced their new wood grip-base xl for the A7III-A7rIII and A9. They should be available soon on Amazon US:

This is a J.B. personal favorite and a new finish we are debuting! Add the MUCH NEEDED height to the Sony A7III series camera bodies with our new XL grip handcrafted from super strong (and light) White Oak. We carefully perfected our grip design for the A7III, A7RIII, and A9 and made it TALLER to accommodate room for you to finally place your pinky finger and feel confident in your grip!

This new XL grip is made of strong White Oak and then painted with special black paint. We then distress the grip to give each one it’s own unique finish. This grip feels awesome on my A7RIII and I finally feel confident and comfortable holding large pro lenses while shooting.

The total weight of the grip and hardware piece is only 3.0 ounces! The Sony vertical grip makes the system too bulky IMO, but with this XL grip base, it just feels perfect.

Each A7III Series XL grip is uniquely handcrafted and finished in the USA!
