Brad:One of the main reasons I upgraded to the a7s ii was for the slo-motion capabilities in full HD. I recently had the chance to document a brother/sister team who create unique and fun artwork out of metal junk.  This was a fun opportunity to really push the 120 f/second feature.  Shot entirely on a Sony a7s ii with the Loxia 35mm lens. https://vimeo.com/147804423

Sony CES page and livestreaming. What do you hope to get: A99II, A6xxx or FE lenses?

Share

CES

An anonymous source sent me the link to that special Sony CES page: https://blog.sony.com/CES/. Sony will announce new products on January 5. And you can watch the announcement live via UStream here on SonyAlphaRumors.

He also added: “Sony will announce a new APS Camera at the CES next year according to their blog at“. But I have not found such a statement on any Sony site or social network. I may ask the source to send me the link to it?

Keep in mind the CP+ photography show will take place in February. So we don’t know yet what of the rumored new FE lenses, A6xxx and maybe new A-mount stuff will be announced at CES or at CP+.

Just curious:

What do you hope to see announced at CES on January 5?

Gary:http://www.f8photography.com.hk/blog/2015/11/20/apec2015. I used only Sony A7RII and A7SII to shoot exclusive images ‘behind the scenes’ at APEC 2015 of 20 Heads of State. The Sony cameras were perfect for this job with great low light capability and small size for discretion when working in close proximity to these VVIPs.

Sony A7rII vs Phase One IQ160 battle. A7rII review by Photographylife.

Share

On the video above Epicmind compares the A7rII vs the Phase One IQ160. Watch it to hear who wins.

And Nasim Mansurov from Photographylife posted his detailed A7rII review:

After having a pleasant shooting experience with the camera, I wondered how good Sony’s new BSI sensor would look when compared to both the D810 and the 5DS R. To my surprise (and as you can see from the previous pages of this review), the Sony A7R II demonstrated superb performance at handling noise at high ISOs, easily surpassing both cameras. In my past evaluations, Sony full-frame cameras always fell short when put head-to-head against Nikon DSLRs, so I did not expect the A7R II to do better either. But looks like the BSI CMOS sensor that Sony decided to utilize on the A7R II was the right choice, as the performance speaks for itself. Not only does it deliver exceptionally good ISO performance, but it also does it with more megapixels than the D810 and a far better dynamic range performance than the Canon 5DS R.
