a couple of hours to go…

It’s 04:20 here in Berlin and it’s only 2-3 hours to go until the final Sony announcement. I am still not 100% sure if the announcement will be made at 5am in the morning London time. I expect many reviews, news and preorders to be posted at that time. I would be happy if you can help me to not miss any of these news. Send me the links at sonyalpharumors@gmail.com. I am incredibly tired and will try to sleep a couple of hours before to get back to work on SAR. I really Thanks you all for the help and support you gave me in these weeks. I am sooo tired I am really looking forward to recover the days after Photokina!

(SR5) First picture of the Fulll Frame E-mount VG-900!

This is the first image of the first E-mount Full Frame camera! It’s actually a camcorder to be correct, the new VG-900. Click on the picture to view the full size version. It finally proves that a FF sensor indeed fits into an E-mount. And I was considered as a crazy guy when I told you this was coming… :)
Like the A99 and RX1 the camera uses a new 24 Megapixel sensor. Records video in AVCHD 2.0. Price around $3300 with new Full Frame A-mount adpater included!

P.S.: What if Sony would do some math and resolve the following equation: VG900+RX1= X    -> end of the Leica M series? :)

I know I shocked you by posting this is FAKE(!) rendering! But in yesterdays RX1 poll only 15% of the readers said they would buy the fixed lens RX1. So my question to you now is. Would you have bought the RX1 with 35mm f/2.0 Zeiss lens if it would have an interchangeable lens mount?

Will you buy the new Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM lens ?

This could potentially lure some of the bigger companies into doing something similar. This could be mirrorless/compact camera 2.0. This could be the first Sony digital camera I ever buy. ”

David Kilpatrick writes on Photoclubalpha: “I think, perhaps, that after a long time of ignoring photographers Sony finally listened. They may have listened to the wrong ones. The lens enthusiasts of dPreview represent a tiny minority. Those who will spend nearly $3k on a fixed lens compact – even with full frame – are even fewer.”

Short roundup before the storm: New VG30 pic, new K-5II with Sony sensor and Hasselblad-Sony partnership?

I have to catch up with some news before to keep talking about the big A99, RX1 VG900 and NEX-6 cameras that are going to be announced tomorrow! So here are three interesting news:

1) We have some new VG-30 pics you can see her eon top. Click on the pictures on top to see the full size version.

2) Pentax announced the new K-5II with 16,3 Sony Exmor sensor without AA filter (Specs and price here at BH).

3) Hasselblad will announce a mirrorless camera with a larger than Full Frame sensor. And it is rumored that the sensor is made by Sony! The camera will be similar to current [shoplink 13933 ebay]Hasselblad Xpan cameras (they are here on eBay)[/shoplink]. I certainly hope that’s a true rumor! More info at MirrorlessRumors.
