And here it is the new Sony A7c! As you can see it also has that new collapsible 28-60mm f/4-5.6 lens! The camera will be announce next week on Sept 15 (be here on SAR to watch the announcement live).

Sony A7c specs we know so far:

I can now confirm the EU pricing of the Sony A7c:

2099 Euro for the body only
2399 Euro for the body with the new pancake zoom kit lens

Basically you get an A7III in a smaller body and some new features for 200 Euro&Dollars more. What’s different from the A7III? New menu system, improved autofocus systems, fully articulating screen and so forth. But while I like the idea to have a sort of “compact A7III” I think the price should have been a bit lower. Althaugh sources said this camera nails it when it comes to the esthetics. So maybe that’s also something that will attract potential customers.

Sony has officially launched this teaser image for a new camera announcement on September 15. They say it’s a “new concept” and we know this is for the Sony A7c compact camera :)

It’s likely to be a mistake but Sony Hong Kong said:

“On Sept 15, We (Sony Hong Kong) will bring you two latest Alpha full-frame mirrorless camera product information…”

They now have removed that phrase. There are three options:

1. It’s a mistake
2. They mean the A7c and the new rumored 2x-60mm pancake FF lens
3. They meant the A7IV too.

I wish it would be point 3 :)

• Nearly exactly the same A7III specs (same 24MP sensor)
• autofocus algorithm is the one from the A7sIII
• 4k30p (damn no 4k60P)
• Camera is slightly bigger than the A6600 and from what people told me it’s the “Most beautiful E-mount camera yet”

Just a small addition to the A7c rumors: I have been told the new Sony A7c will be available in two colors: Silver and Black. And one source told me that actually only the top 1cm is Silver on the Silver model. The rest is Black.
